KUBS has established the Implementaiton Guideline for the Certification Program of KUBS Concentration Track.   1. Reasons for establishing the certification program of the Concentration Track - To nurture creative convergence talents who know how to respond to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, fulfill social responsibilities as a member of one’s country and the international community, and cultivate sustainable values. - To cultivate both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to understand emerging issues in a rapidly changing business environment and find creative and innovative solutions. - To provide student-oriented education by allowing students to design and implement academic plans focused on developing knowledge and strengthening competencies in specific areas of business administration.   2. Date of Establishment: May 1, 2021   3. Main Points - There shall be three concentration tracks: Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Business Analytics, and Social Value & Sustainability in Business. - Depending on the curriculum (accredited courses) of each track, once the required credits (18 credits) are completed, a certificate of completion will be issued for that track. - Students in the Department of Business Administration (including those who are in Interdisciplinary Studies), and students of intensive major, double major and dual degree programs are eligible for application. - Students can complete more than one concentration track. However, a student cannot postpone graduation to complete the concentration track if all graduation requirements have been met. (*completion of concentration track is not a graduation requirement.) - In order to apply for the completion certification of the concentration track, students must submit required documents to the KUBS administration office by the specified date after their grades for the final semester prior to graduation have been confirmed. - (Transitional measures) The new program is also applied to students who have taken the courses prior to the effective date. Students who are expecting to graduate in August 2021 (including candidates) are eligible to apply for the completion certification for the concentration track. Guidelines on Applying for Interdisciplinary Major, 2022-Spring   Under University Constitution and Regulations in Chapter 4, section3, Article 35(Interdisciplinary Major) & Academic Operations Regulation Chapter6, Section2, Article2 & Guideline for Interdisciplinary Major The Interdisciplinary Major is an undergraduate degree program that combines or integrates 2 or more degree courses which may be established and managed upon satisfying the graduation requirements of 36~81 credits for the 1st major. Interdisciplinary Major is conferred with the bachelor’s degree of 2 majors from the list stated below.   1. Application Process ① Applications are reviewed by the interdisciplinary major council and each department/school that applicants belong to. ② Applicants’ overall GPA (including F grade) is taken into consideration.   2. Eligibility ① Under the Constitution and Academic Regulations of Korea University, Article 35, applicants should have registered for more than three semesters(those whose first major have not been designated are ineligible) are eligible to apply for interdisciplinary major. *students who are on leave of absence at the time of (or during the application period) will be disqualified even after being announced as successful applicants. ② Transfer students can apply after completing a minimum of one semester at Korea University. ③ Students on leave of absence are not eligible to apply. ④ Students who are already in the interdisciplinary major program are ineligible to apply. Guidelines on Applying for Student-Designed Major in the 2022-1 Semester   ※ School Regulations: Constitution of Korea University, Chapter 4, Article 35(Classification of Majors) & Academic Operations Regulations Chapter 6, Article 3(Student-Designed Major) & Guideline for Student-Designed Major   The ‘Student-Designed Major’ is designed to accommodate the interests and career goals of students with broad interdisciplinary interests that cannot be satisfied within one of the traditional Korea University majors. Upon satisfying the graduation requirements of both first and Student-Designed Major, students with Student-Designed Major shall be conferred with the bachelor’s degree of each major. Curriculum of Student- Designed Major should be created by combining a minimum of three Korea University majors’ and must contain 36 major credits or more in total under the guidance of academic advisor of Student-Designed Major.   1. 2021 Fall Semester Guide for Taking the Online English Proficiency Test for freshmen Korea University IFLS Foreign Language Center will conduct an online English proficiency test to determine the appropriate level of Academic English for the 2021 fall semester. This test follows the TOEIC format. The English proficiency test is a mandatory requirement for freshmen at Korea University registering for Academic English, and must be taken prior to Academic English course registration. *Please note that you cannot register in any Academic English course unless you first take the English level test. 1. Students required to take the English level test: - All students (including international freshmen and international transfer students) entering Korea University in 2021 - All Korean nationals residing abroad (재외국민) and entering Korea University in 2021 - Any student who entered Korea University from 2012 to 2021 and has not yet taken the English level test. 2. 2021 Spring Semester Special Leave of Absence Notice   Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, Special Leave of Absence can be permitted for Spring Semester of 2021. This case is not included into the total period of Leave of Absence also not calculated during your study in KU, which Freshman or Transfer Student can apply for. Please read the following carefully and apply to each department administration office. □ Temporarily, this Special Leave of Absence is possible to apply in case student can’t start this semester or continue the study due to COVID-19 situation you can have during 2021 Spring Semester.   1. Target : Freshmen/Tranfer/Course Completed Student who can meet one of the below conditions as Graduate School student     A. COVID-19 infected or confirmed patient who can’t start semester or continue study.     B. Who can’t come to Korea from Countries where the restriction of arrival to Korea effects at time you apply ‘Special Leave of Absence’ for 2021 Spring Semester - Only who stay in the Countries as indicated at http://www.0404.go.kr/ from MOFA(Ministry of Foreign Affairs)    C. The 23rd KUBS Buddy Recruitment KUBS has signed academic exchange agreements with 103 overseas universities from 31 countries, and is continuously promoting active exchange by sending and accepting numerous students. We are now recruiting the 23rd KUBS Buddy members. For those who are interested, please refer to the information below:   1. What is KUBS Buddy? 1) Purpose: An organization of KUBS students supporting KUBS exchange students To increase the status as a worldwide prestigious university by providing continuous support and promotional services for international students.  2) History: The first recruitment was held in 2010, and KUBS is in process of recruiting the 23rd KUBS Buddy for the fall semester of 2021.   3) Recruitment Area: Executive (school jacket, book rental service, meeting dates and meeting room bookings) Press (media planning for activities, posters and card news production, photos, and Instagram management) Program (KUBS Buddy regular activities planning and collecting feedbacks) 4) Period: One year (2 consecutive semesters mandatory.  However, vacancy from military service is permitted)   5) General Body Meeting: After each activity, meeting will be proceeded with debriefing regular activities (mandatory)   6) It is mandatory to participate in the regular activities at least 3 times     2. Please make your payments during the final registration period, not during the regular registration period, regardless of credits or payment amount..   Eligibility to do Extra Semesters Students who are enrolled for at least nine semesters of college and who applied for courses within nine credits.
