C-ESI is a management strategy society for students established under the Eland Group Strategic Intelligence (ESI) that consists of students from Yonsei University, Korea University, Sogang University, and Sungkyunkwan University, and intends to help them gain first-hand experience on B2C business strategy consulting. Instead of being a simple project requested by a corporation, students conduct projects to provide a more practical and realizable solutions for the challenges faced by Eland brands and many small to medium brands. From a sound education curriculum based on current business consultants and weekly constructive feedback from the brand manager, the students will gain an opportunity to become global talents to respond to diverse needs in modern society.
Eyes of Global Insight (EGI) is a management strategy society that pursues strategic thinking applicable to any business environment. EGI has made marked growth, driven by a focus on change and innovation built on regular seminars and discussions. EGI members have been able to establish a strong culture thanks to EGI’s unique “Junior-Senior-Director” curriculum and the fellowship system. Other activities include Wooltary (a mentor-mentee program), fundraising/social contributions, sports activities, and Homecoming Day.
FEDC (Finance & Economics Debating Club) is the Korea University’s only debate club on business and economics. The members meet every Mondays and Thursdays to discuss both domestic and international economic/business issues and brief on major weekly news. Through this process, students are able to gain more knowledge on the industry, boost critical thinking skills, and hone communication skills.
Established in 1966 under the leadership of Prof. Kim Ik-soo, the Future Entrepreneurs` Society (FES) was the first business academic society in the Business Administration Department of Korea University. FES is a group of people who are looking to explore their values, enhance their knowledge and skills, and establish their career path through business seminars each semester and other activities. The ultimate vision of FES is to foster talented entrepreneurs who make a positive contribution to the world.
Founded in 2015, the ibc is a finance strategy society of the Korea University Business School that focuses on corporate finance, M&A and IPO. Students from different backgrounds gather to simulate corporate and industry analysis as well as corporate valuations to develop practical skills and insights required by the actual finance industry. In addition, the goal of the society is to use such skills in cultivating potential experts in future Banking and PE.
The Investment and Finance Research Association (IFRA) is a society pursuing general research on investment and finance. Every week day morning, IFRA members discuss issues based on articles in international economic journals such the Economist, the Financial Times and the Bloomberg. Once a week, IFRA analyzes market data, explores the global market, and evaluates enterprise value. The fundamental purpose of these activities is to help IRFA members develop insight into the global economy and financial markets, thus enhancing their knowledge and skills. Regular meetings with alumni who are currently working at leading global financial companies or in academia provide valuable chances for members to network and explore future careers.
The ITS is Korea University`s only IT-focused management strategy society. Founded in 2011, ITS stands for “Information Technology Society” and until today remains the first and only IT-related management strategy society. ITS studies the integration of world-changing IT technology and management knowledge that would support such changes. Unlike other strategy societies, the members study general technology and knowledge on IT to apply in practice. Every semester, the students conduct various activities, including IT basic education, competition, and academic-industry related events.
Born from the Great Symposium, involving all commercial majors across the nation, on the issues and development directions of the Korean economy, the Korean Commercial-Economic Conference (KCC) was established in 1963. KCC has grown into an academic union of six universities (Korea University, Yonsei University, Sungkyunkwan University, Dongguk University, Ewha Womans University, and Sookmyung Women`s University) that studies commerce with the aim to build friendship between commercial majors, ultimately contributing to the Korean economy. To build strong ties between members from different universities, KCC holds weekly academic sessions and also joint trips. KCC provides an established network and a wide range of economics and business administration knowledge.
Korea University Logistics, Service and Operations Management (KULSOM) is an academic club which studies theory and cases studies related to processes involved in services, product manufacturing and operations management. We hold weekly sessions and experience real-life practice through field trips each semester. This helps KULSOM members to acquire knowledge about operations ranging from manufacturing to the service industry.
Korea University Value Investment Community (KUVIC) is a value investment club. In our regular sessions, we educate our members on value investment by identifying promising companies and analyzing industries, economies, and companies. We also run a research team and a fund operation team. Through the SKYS Research Competition held every semester, KUVIC actively interacts with investment clubs from other universities (e.g., SMIC from Seoul National University, YIG from Yonsei University, and SRS from Sogang University). KUVIC’s greatest strengths are the strong ties among its members and the solid alumni network involving past members who are currently playing an active part in leading financial and securities companies at home and abroad.
The Management Consulting Club (MCC) serves as a great professional network for those who want to become society leaders, offering study sessions on management consulting. With an aim to foster future leaders, MCC focuses on the cultivation of fundamental leadership skills such as logical and innovative thinking, communication, and negotiation.
The Real Investment Society of Korea (RISK) is an investment society that aims to foster future value investment professionals. Similar to actual securities firms, RISK consists of three teams: a research team, a fund operation team and a macroeconomic analysis team. Based on a well-organized curriculum and session activities, RISK helps members to improve their investment ability. In addition, strong ties with alumni from various walks of life are another benefit of being a RISK member.
Secrets Behind China (SBC) studies China from a management strategy perspective. Since its establishment in 1996, SBS has studied the Chinese economy and the growth strategies adopted by both domestic and overseas companies in the Chinese market, thereby developing global insight and strategic thinking. With these efforts, SBC intends to nurture global leaders, befitting to the era of globalization. In addition, based on regular exchanges, SBC has built a strong network with alumni in various fields.
CREAKET(크리켓)은 고려대학교 유일의 브랜드 컨설팅 학회입니다. 2013년 안암동 상권에 맨몸으로 찾아가 브랜드 컨설팅을 제공하던 크리켓은, 이후 교내 스타트업을 거쳐 다양한 국내 브랜드들로 클라이언트 층을 넓히고 있습니다. `올바른 브랜딩이 필요한` 누구나 우리의 클라이언트가 될 수 있으며, 명확한 브랜딩 방향성과 이에 기반한 커뮤니케이션 전략을 제공합니다. 구성원들에게는 실제 컨설팅 경험뿐만 아니라, 세미나를 통한 브랜딩 능력 향상과 홈커밍데이를 통한 네트워킹 제공을 통해 진정한 크리케터로 거듭날 수 있게 합니다.
BADA(Beyond Analytics Develop Answer) 는 2022년부터 활동한 고려대학교 Business Analytics 학회입니다. Digital transformation이 경영에서 중요해진 시대에 맞추어 데이터와 비즈니스를 접목하여 새로운 가치를 창출하는 인재로 성장하는 것을 목표로 합니다. 데이터 사이언스에 활용되는 방법론과 그 배경이 되는 통계, 수리, 컴퓨터 지식을 공부하며, 비즈니스 데이터 분석을 통해 분석 결과에 기반한 인사이트를 제시합니다.
Established in 1964 to facilitate the "pursuit of creative business men" Hyangyeong (BUMA) was designed to be an academic union of five universities (Korea University, Ewha Womans University, Sookmyung Women`s University, Sogang University, and Yonsei University). Over its 50-year history, Hyangyeong has recruited new freshmen members and studied business administration through numerous seminars. In addition, Hyangyeong has many proud alumni who play important roles in Korean society, and members can develop with support of alumni. Under the title "Hangyeong People", our members become lifetime companions.
SPORTS
KUBIZ is a baseball club that anyone with an interest in and passion for baseball can join, regardless of age, gender, nationality, region of birth, or proficiency. Recording excellent results in both intramural and extramural competitions every year, we have been the pride of KUBS.
Kyeongchuk is the only soccer club in KUBS. Kyeongchuk has changed the soccer culture of KUBS, where football teams used to be operated by class. Under the motto, “Be respectful”, we have the spirit of fair play and the cultivation of integrity as fundamental ideologies. This year marks the 17th anniversary and we have placed highly in both intramural and extramural competitions (e.g. football tournaments for business schools in Seoul). In addition, we support the external activities of members through university football leagues and volunteer work. Kyeongchuk forms a strong network between seniors and juniors based on familiarity.
Kyeongnonghoi is the only basketball club in KUBS, boasting a history of over 20 years. Full of passion for basketball and sport in general, we try to excel not only in study but also in physical competition. We have recorded excellent results in both intramural and extramural competitions. In addition, we have ties with alumni as close as family. It does not matter whether you can play basketball or not. We are open to anyone who loves the sport.
HOBBY
Broaden is the only dancing club in KUBS. As indicated by our name, we intend to broaden our campus life. We perform at the freshmen orientation in February and the Suktap Daedong Festival in May, in addition to the holding of a regular performance in September. We are also invited to perform at events for the KUBS Ladies Association and the KUBS Alumni Association every year. Broaden recruits new members every March, particularly targeting freshmen.
Established in 1989 as a singing club, U&I has slowly evolved into a band club. U&I stages a regular concert in November and performs at the freshmen orientation in February and the Suktap Daedong Festival in May. On the stage, we express with music what our hearts want to say. With U&I, you can indulge in your passion for music and share human moments with members through music.
