Jeongjincho / Takmajeong
Behind KUBS’ successful results in the CPA and the National Exam for Higher Civil Service lie Jeongjincho and Takmajeong.
Jeongjincho
KU’s CPA-prep classhelped KU produce the largest number of successful applicants in the 2013 CPA exam of any domestic university.
KUBS is proud to announce that Korea University students best performed on the final outcome of the 54th Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination. Korea University recorded total of 109 successful candidates, while 205 passing the first round. This achievement reaffirms Korea University's position as the best institute for nurturing certified public accountants, with the highest cumulative numbers (854) for the past 8 years (2012~2019). Korea University is the only university with more than 200 successful first round candidates and more than 100 successful candidates.
These laudable achievements were made possible by the support of the CPA prep program called“Jeongjincho (精進礎)” run by Korea University.
Located on the third floor of the KUBS Main Building, Jeongjincho provides the best environment for students to focus on their studies. Only those who have entered the program after fierce competition are given access to reading rooms, support for Internet lectures, and scholarship opportunities. Even the students who failed to enter Jeongjincho can share information about exams, accounting firm presentations, interview schedules through the university portal Jeongjincho community and can also participate in joint purchase of mock tests through Kakao Talk Plus friends.
Certified public accountants are professionals whose main tasks are auditing, tax-related and management-related affairs, while the Financial Supervisory Service has conducted annual certified public accountant exams since 1967 to train accounting professionals. As social importance and demand for certified public accountants increase every year, students' interest also continues to grow.
Jeongjincho recruits not only KUBS students but also all students and graduates of Korea University, and more information can be found on the Jeongjincho community on the Korea University Portal (portal.korea.ac.kr).

Takmajeong
is a prep class for the National Exam for Higher Civil ServiceKU’s prep class for the National Exam for Higher Civil Service.
These classes provides students with the infrastructure and full-scale administrative support required to help them better concentrate on their study, while encouraging them to meet successful alumni, including those working at the top four domestic accounting firms.
Takmajeong is a prep class for the National Exam for Higher Civil Service. Takmajeong is a combination of the Korean words jeolchatakma, which means cutting and polishing, and jeong, which was a training group during the Silla Dynasty (57 B.C. to 935 A.D.). A great number of successful KU applicants to the National Exam for Higher Civil Service have come from Takmajeong. Although it recruits members on a rolling basis throughout the year, the total number of Takmajeong members has been cut substantially. Anyone who wants to join Takmajeong should take a mock test and a descriptive test. Takmajeong then chooses students based on their grades. At the year’s end, Takmajeong holds an official event where alumni visit current Takmajeong members to encourage them in their studies.
고KUBS conducted a building renovation in 2007 to provide a better environment for the members of Jeongjincho and Takmajeong. Sound-proof facilities, air-conditioning, heating systems, and ventilators were installed and furniture and exterior walls were replaced with the latest models. In addition to this environmental support, Takmajeong also helps by designating academic advisors to the students.
