Exchange Student Airfair Scholarship

Application and Required Documents

Important Notices

  • 1. Confirm with the exact eligibility for the documents (Specified below)
  • 2. All KUBS exchange program participants are qualified to apply into the scholarship. The criteria for selection of airfare scholarships are based on the documents submitted by the student (e.g. financial status)
  • 3. Scholarship awards amount varies based on KUBS scholarship standards
  • 4. Recipients of Mirae Asset scholarships are exempt from KUBS airfare scholarship selection
  • 5. Register into the KOSAF scholarship prior to the application
  • 6. Refer to the attached file of the announcement of Exchange Program and submit it to the submission document when applying for the exchange program
  • 7. Not eligible ; Dual Majors and Double Majors

Additional financial aids

  • Additional aid will be offered to a few among the students whom have been selected to the Airfare Scholarship. Grants are used to providing a financial aid to the student living expenses.
    (This is not provided to the other scholarship type awardees or candidates except for KUBS Dream Scholarship)

Required Documents

  • 1. Application for the Airfare Scholarship – minimum 100 words.
  • 2. A Copy of the income quintile
  • 4. Copy of Certificate of Member of the National Health Insurance Corporation
    ※If both parents and the applicant are registered to different health insurance policies, the applicant must submit both the health insurance card copy and Certificate of National Health Corporation(for example, if the applicant is registered under the applicant’s father’s health insurance card and the mother is registered separately, the applicant must submit the document from the mother’s side as well).
    If the National Health Insurance is by the applicant’s sibling, the sibling must submit a Local Tax Assessment Certificate.
  • 5. Certificate of Health Insurance Payment
  • 6. Local Tax Assessment Certificate (To be issued by each of your parent’s ID and the student’s ID)
  • 7. Additional Documents (Optional)
  • 8. E-tickets and Receipts (must submit before departure)

Documents Needed

For International Students,

  • 1. A copy of the flight Scholarship and adiitional financial aid application – the statement must Proof of Family Relations (e.g. Birth Certificate)
    Proof of Parental Income
    Proof of Current Bank Balance
    Proof of Family’s Financial State (Optional)
    Additional documents (Optional) - Documents needed to be considered for other scholarships (e.g., Certificate of Financial Transaction, Corporation Register, basic livelihood security recipient, lower income group, documents that prove the person’s distinguished services to the country, marriage certificate [if the parents are divorced], cancer diagnosis, etc.)
  • 2. Resident Registration or Family Relation Certificate

    (the document must be issued based on either the paternal or maternal side of the family; if the issuer is under your name, your dependents or siblings will not be shown)

  • 3. An original copy of the proof of income of both parents (one from each parent, issued a year prior to the date of the dispatch; if you can submit the document, you should submit a copy as well)
    • * Proof of income document types
    • 1) Wages: Receipt for Wage and Salary Income Tax Withholding or Certificate of Income
    • 2) Self-employed: Certificate of Income (Issued by National Tax Service)
    • 3) Unemployed: Certificate (Certificate issued by National Tax Service that proves no aggregate tax was filed in 2017, and no wage [business] income filing was made for year-end tax adjustment)
  • 4. A copy of your health insurance card
  • 5. Certificate of National Health Insurance Premium Payment
    • ※If both parents and the applicant are registered to different health insurance policies, the applicant must submit both the health insurance card copy and Certificate of National Health Insurance Premium Payment
      (for example, if the applicant is registered under the applicant’s father’s health insurance card and the mother is registered separately, the applicant must submit the document from the mother’s side as well).
      If the National Health Insurance Premium Payment is by the applicant’s sibling, the sibling must submit a Local Tax Assessment Certificate.
  • 6. An original document of the previous year’s Local Tax Assessment Certificate from both parents and the applicant (a copy from each of the mother, the father, and the applicant—3 copies in total)

    ※For an applicant who doesn’t pay taxes, submit the Local Tax Assessment Certificate that states “No property tax (Building, land) filed” from the local district office.

  • 7. Additional documents (Optional)

    - Documents needed to be considered for other scholarships (e.g., Certificate of Financial Transaction, Corporation Register, basic livelihood security recipient, lower income group, documents that prove the person’s distinguished services to the country, marriage certificate [if the parents are divorced], cancer diagnosis, etc.)

  • 8. Round-trip flight tickets and receipt (must submit before departure)

Selection and provision process

  • Selection : Scholarship applicants among the selected students as an exchange student after receiving the application at the time of application for the exchange program
  • Provision : To be paid upon arrival at the dispatched school
