Guidelines on Applying for Interdisciplinary Major, 2021-1   Under University Constitution and Regulations in Chapter 4, section3, Article 35(Interdisciplinary Major) & Academic Operations Regulation Chapter6, Section2, Article2 & Guideline for Interdisciplinary Major The Interdisciplinary Major is an undergraduate degree program that combines or integrates 2 or more degree courses which may be established and managed upon satisfying the graduation requirements of 36~81 credits for the 1 st major. Interdisciplinary Major is conferred with the bachelor’s degree of 2 majors from the list stated below.   1. Application Process Applications are reviewed by the interdisciplinary major council and each department/school that applicants belong to. Applicants’ overall GPA (including F grade) is taken into consideration.   2. Eligibility ① Under the Constitution and Academic Regulations of Korea University, Article 35, applicants should have registered for more than three semesters(those whose first major have not been designated are ineligible) are eligible to apply for interdisciplinary major. *students who are on leave of absence at the time of (or during the application period) will be disqualified even after being announced as successful applicants. ② Transfer students can apply after completing a minimum of one semester at Korea University. ③ Students on leave of absence are not eligible to apply. ④ Students who are already in the interdisciplinary major program are ineligible to apply. Also students who are pursuing a double major or engineering authentication certificate program are ineligible to apply unless students withdraw from the program before September 29, 2020   3. Application Period 1) Application Period: October 5 (Mon) 10:00 ~ October 8 (Thu) 17:00 2) Application is only accepted online at KU Portal -> Registration & Graduation -> Interdisciplinary Courses   4. Note 1) The mandatory regulation of completing a second major is applied to students entering from 2004 onward. Student subject to this regulation must complete one of the followings; 1) intensive major course of first major 2)double major 3) interdisciplinary major 4)student-designed major. (Applicant who is transferred with a bachelor’s degree can choose not to complete a second major. 2) Students who withdraw second major program before applying for the interdisciplinary major and fail to enter this program should take an intensive course of the first major. 3) Intensive major course of 1 st major assumes a similar form to the existing single major system. 4) Among successful applicants, those only who retain the eligibility conditions during the application semester (ie. Registration, approval of pre-taken courses, designation of independent major courses, courseregistration) will be accepted to pursue Interdisciplinary Major from the following semester. ★Application for TNT PROGRAM★   Here's a guide for the KUBS Tutor & Tutee program, a business school tutoring program. Based on the fact that many students are doing part-time jobs after school through private tutoring, we would like to run a program where students can give tutors to junior and foreign students who have difficulties in their major classes on campus and receive scholarships. We will recruit mentors who can help students with their major studies, and mentees who want to get help to improve exchanges and their grades.   **In this semester, this program can be run by each of your online meeting platforms such as ZOOM, KakaoTalk Face Talk, Skype and Google Hangout.   **2020 Fall TNT PROGRAM Application period : 9th SEP ~ 23:59 15th SEP   **2020 Fall TNT PROGRAM Schedule : 21th SEP ~ 7th DEC (except mid-term / national holidays / finish before final exam)   HOW TO APPLY: 1. Note that you can change your schedule only one time per semester.     5) Tutors are required to submit monthly reports and tutoring time on the last day of every months on the KUCHIVE.     6) Tutors and Tutee are required to submit a final report at the end of the TNT program. Application Period: October 5, 2020 (Mon) 10:00 – October 7, 2020 (Wed) 17:00   2. How to Apply: KUPID > Registration & Graduation > University Registration > Dual Degrees Application (Attachment of receipt of application fee is mandatory.)   3. Eligibility Students who have completed at least 102 credit hours (34 credit hours for transferred students), Students with overall GPA of at least 2.50 (inclusive of F grades), Students who are enrolled (Those who are attending foreign colleges cannot apply) *Students who have already been approved of dual degrees cannot re-apply *According to the enforcement regulations of Military Personnel Management Act Article 8, R.O.T.C. students who are to be commissioned cannot apply   4. 2020 Fall Semester Special Leave of Absence Notice   Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, Special Leave of Absence can be permitted for Fall Semester of 2020. This case is not calculated into the total period of General Leave of Absence(6 semesters) and Leave of Absence due to Illness(2 semesters), which Freshman or Transfer Student can also apply for. Dear Students,   Unfortunately, the situation of COVID-19 has worsened recently while the fall semester is approaching very soon. Although the stage of social distancing set by the government is still the second stage, all lectures of the courses offered by KUBS and courses assigned to KUBS buildings will be conducted online only from September 1 (Tue) to 11 (Fri) in order to ensure the safety of all members and minimize confusion at the beginning of the semester under the current COVID-19 situation. NEW[General][General][Announcement] Aug 18th (Tue) Shutdown of KUBS Main Building & Key Precautions

Please be informed with the below information regarding to the shutdown of KUBS Main Building due to the spread of COVID-19.     - On August 18th (Tue), one KUBS officer has conducted COVID-19 test as their family member came up with the final positive result after testing. - On the same day, KUBS has proceeded shutdown of the KUBS Main Building, considering the incubation period of virus. - At 2pm on Tuesday, the officer received final negative result after testing, and they were instructed to self-quarantine for 2-weeks. - People who contacted the officer were instructed to work at home until August 21st. - KUBS Main Building will reopen from August 19th.     - By August 28th, all KUBS personnel is required to minimize the moving distance inside the building. Contacts during lunch time should be limited within the office units and distancing between individual is a must. - For the next 2 weeks, having meals by groups are not allowed. Guidelines for Minor Application, Fall 2020   ※「Korea University Constitution」Article 36,「Administration of Academic Affairs」 the first clause of Article 7 - A minor requires 21 credit hours apart from your first major - A second major does not count towards a minor, and a minor is not indicated on graduation certificate. - An incomplete minor cannot be the ground for deferring graduation.   1. Eligibility: Students who (1) have specified their first major, and (2) have completed more than three semesters, and (3) are enrolled in Fall 2020 ※ Applications by students who are on leave of absence on the corresponding semester will be ceased.   2. Applicable Areas of Study: 1) Students may not apply for a minor from the department of their first major or relevant (cross-listed) course. 2) Students may apply for courses from Anam Campus that are not open at Sejong Campus as a minor. 3) However, if the relevant course is opened both at Anam and Sejong Campus, students must register for a minor from their designated campus. 4) A minor from the College of Education can only be granted to students whose first major is from the College of Education. ※ Note: A ratio of the number of students taking minor courses at the College of Education is 10%, applicable to entering class of 2006 and 2007.
