Under University Constitution and Regulations in Chapter 4, section3, Article 35 (Interdisciplinary Major) & Academic Operations Regulation Chapter6, Section2, Article 2 & Guideline for Interdisciplinary Major The Interdisciplinary Major is an undergraduate degree program that combines or integrates 2 or more degree courses which may be established and managed upon satisfying the graduation requirements of 36~81 credits for the 1st major. Interdisciplinary Major is conferred with the bachelor’s degree of 2 majors from the list stated below. 1. Application Process Application ProcessApplications are reviewed by the interdisciplinary major council and each department/school that applicants belong to. Applicants’ overall GPA (including F grade) is taken into consideration. 2. Eligibility 1) Under the Constitution and Academic Regulations of Korea University, Article 35, applicants should have registered for more than three semesters(those whose first major have not been designated are ineligible) are eligible to apply for interdisciplinary major. ※ Students who are on leave of absence at the time of (or during the application period) will be disqualified even after being announced as successful applicants. 2) Transfer students can apply after completing a minimum of one semester at Korea University. 3) Students on leave of absence are not eligible to apply. 4) Students who are already in the interdisciplinary major program are ineligible to apply. Also students who are pursuing a double major or engineering authentication certificate program are ineligible to apply unless students withdraw from the program before April  7th, 2017.  3. 1. Introducing Program-based Scholarship The Program-based Scholarship helps KU students become a talented individual with the university’s unique competitiveness. The scholarship aims to enhance academic and research performance, develop self-development and self-planning skills, and nurture intelligent talents. The Program-based Scholarship business was selected in Spring 2017 by establishing Entrepreneurship Academy program which is focused on nurturing challenge-driven entrepreneurs.    2. Purpose and Goals of Entrepreneurship Academy The purpose of the Entrepreneurship Academy is to develop innovative educational infrastructure where “challenge-driven entrepreneurs" will be raised. To achieve this, the Entrepreneurship Academy will (i) nurture leaders with entrepreneurial spirit through education on success cases of venture business, and (ii) provide creative/integrated education consists of various studies, such as technology, society, and culture.    3. Entrepreneurship Academy  The Entrepreneurship Academy allows students to obtain information on their fields of interests (e.g. investment, establishment of company, tax accounting, etc.) through special lectures. They can also cultivate creativity and openness by participating in open seminars and building a network with startup mentors. There will be a total of three activities, and participants will be divided into two groups.   The first group will participate in Activities (1)-(2). The second group will participate in Activities (1)-(2)-(3). (1) Lecture Series • Senior and junior mentors in related fields of startup and entrepreneurial innovation will be invited to the Lecture Series every once a month. Students will have an opportunity to receive advice on current trends and startup strategy as well as building a network which is important for their startup business. Also, prospective entrepreneurs can find solutions to their concerns.  • The schedule is as follows. Guidelines on Applying for Student-Designed Major in the 2017 Fall Semester   ※ School Regulations: Constitution of Korea University, Chapter 4, Article 35(Classification of Majors) & Academic Operations Regulations Chapter 3 (Student-Designed Major) & Guideline for Student-Designed Major   The ‘Student-Designed Major’ is designed to accommodate the interests and career goals of students with broad interdisciplinary interests that cannot be satisfied within one of the traditional Korea University majors. Upon satisfying the graduation requirements of both first and Student-Designed Major, students with Student-Designed Major shall be conferred with the bachelor’s degree of each major. Curriculum of Student- Designed Major should be created by combining a minimum of three Korea University majors’ and must contain 36 major credits or more in total under the guidance of academic advisor of Student-Designed Major.   I. Application Information   1. Application Dates Applicant shall submit the application to the department office of applicant’s first major via the application procedures indicated above in ① and ② by April 28(Fri), 2017, 17:00. ① Applicant designs curriculum under the guidance of Academic advisor of Student- Designed Major and fills in the applications. ② Each council for Student-Designed Major reviews the application and submit the result to the department office of applicant’s first major. ※ Academic advisor for Student-Designed Major will be assigned after a consultation with a student’s 1st major’s head of department. 2. The Department Office of Business Administration would like to announce the results of Spring 2017 advisor assignment for freshmen/transfer/dual degree/undeclared majors. Please check your assigned advisor on the portal as follows:  Registration & Graduation > University Registration Inquiries > Personal Information > Advisor  For freshmen who are taking "Freshman Seminar," their current class section will be changed to their mentor professor class at the beginning of April. The Faculty-Student Mentoring Day(lunch) will be held on April 10 (Mon), 13 (Thu), and 14 (Fri) at 12:00 p.m. Your participation will be deeply appreciated.  This will be the first meeting with your mentor professor as well as having the opportunity to meet with other KUBS students of mentor professor.  Each mentor professor will attend the meeting on a different date. Thus, registration for Faculty-Student Mentoring Day will be available when the final schedule is confirmed. Spring 2017 Language Examination Exemption Request (Graduate School)   Based on Chapter 4, Article 38 of the Constitution & the Internal Regulations of the Graduate School, KUBS is now accepting applications for exemption from Foreign Language Exam to submit a dissertation.   1. Eligibility: M.S., Ph.D., and Integrated M.S. & Ph.D. Programs (prospective students entering in Spring 2017 can apply for exemption once their admissions are confirmed)   2. Application Period: February 8, 2017 (Wed) – April 7, 2017 (Fri); 17:00    3. Submission Location: The Administrative Office of Graduate School (Central Library—Graduate School, Room 127)   4. How to Apply A. Complete the Application for Exemption from Language Examination and submit with an official English Proficiency Test Score report or an official foreign university diploma. * If you cannot submit your official document, bring an official and copy of your document to the office. An authorized staff will certifiy a copy of your document as genuine). B. Acquire a grade of B or above in the language course (Korean included) offered by KU Institute of Foreign Language Studies (exemption application is not needed – students can check their exemption status on the portal). C. Students who completed Korean Language Regular Program should submit the exemption application and transcript (Institute of Foreign Language Studies Website: http://langtopia.korea.ac.kr). D. Of admitted students before 2014, those have submitted their official English Proficiency Test Score report should turn in the exemption application after scores are certified by an affiliated department office. E. Starting with the Entering Class of 2014,  scores can be confirmed by the Administrative Office of Graduate School. F.
