If you would like to stay at one of these houses from the handbook (attached files), please let me know  1) where you would like to stay,  2) expected date of arrival,  3) how long you are expecting to stay there   If you do not provide me those three questionaires, I cannot help you make a reservation.   Please be aware that since there are many students who didn't get assigned a room and looking for places to stay, rooms could be all taken so quickly. [International] Arizona State is a New Exchange Partner

KUBS signed an exchange agreement with the W. P. Carey School of Business of Arizona State University on April 18, 2005. Dr. William Davey, Director of International Programs Office at Arizona State, and KUBS Dean Jang Rho Lee signed the agreement. The agreement stipulates that the two schools shall enhance their cooperation through faculty/student exchanges. Dr. Davey and Dean Lee also exchanged opinions on other areas of cooperation, such as offering EMBA programs in third countries. During his visit, Dr. Davey toured LG-POSCO Hall and KU Central Library. According to U.S. News and World Report, the undergraduate business program of Carey School ranks 25th in the United States.

Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business became a valuable new exchange partner for Korea Univ. Business School. Dean H. Fenwick Huss of Georgia State paid a visit to KUBS on April 4th. The exchange agreement signed by Dean Huss and Dean Jang Rho Lee of KUBS specifies that the two schools will exchange up to 3 undergraduate/graduate students per year. The visiting dean also met President Yoon-Dae Euh of Korea University and they had lunch together.   

[International]Incoming Foreign Exchange Student Welcoming Reception

On March 25th (Friday), the KUBS International Programs Office (IPO) held a reception, welcoming the 2005 1st semester incoming foreign exchange students. The reception was held at 5:00 p.m. at the LG-POSCO Hall. Prof. Mannsoo Shin, KUBS Associate Dean, welcomed the incoming students, which was followed by a presentation on KUBS by the Director of the International Programs Office, Dr. Lee-gwon Kim. The list of the foreign students are as follows: Siripreechaping, Krobkrong (Chulalongkorn University) Sinchaisittipron, Tathupat (Chulalongkorn University) Nararatwong, Sasipa (Chulalongkorn University) Ip, Kwok Pong (HKUST) Ng, Sing Lui (HKUST) Kozlowski, Piotr (Warsaw University). The foreign students and the IPO staff had dinner at a traditional Korean restaurant near the school.  

[International]Univ. of San Diego (USD), KUBS’ New Exchange Partner

KUBS widened the scope of its international collaboration network to include the School of Business Administration (SBA), University of San Diego (USD) by signing the student exchange agreement on January 20th. The signing ceremony was held at the USD campus located at Alcala Park, San Diego, as Dean Jang Rho Lee and the International Programs Director, Dr.Lee-gwon Kim visited to the school. The exchange agreement specifies that the two schools will exchange up to 3 undergraduate/graduate students per year starting from this fall semester (2005). During the meeting leading up to signing the MOU, Dean Curtis Cook of SBA, USD, introduced his school’s programs and various ongoing international initiatives. Among other things, according Dean Cook, SBA’s International MBA (IMBA) program has a distinct global focus offering short-term study abroad, summer sessions, and international consulting projects in Europe and Asia. Also, the school has a dual MBA degree program with Mexico’s Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM). For the most part, USD’s graduate programs with global orientation are supported by the Ahlers Center for International Business under the leadership its director, Professor Denise Dimon, who also played an active part in seeing the exchange agreement come to fruition between USD and KUBS. Professor Dimon suggested that KUBS should further expand its international network and diversify its partners to include Latin American universities, and at the same time expressed her willingness to provide KUBS with contacts at top business schools in the region. Seeing that both schools place great emphasis on broadening the breadth of their global outlook, their interests nicely dovetail with the new student exchange partnership. As a result, students from both schools are expected to benefit through the increased opportunities to enhance their global understanding on various management issues and increase their cultural sensitivities.

Corvinus University of Budapest Joins the List KUBS Exchange Partners Deans of both KUBS and Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary, signed a general exchange agreement on Dec. 13, 2004, paving the way towards mutual academic cooperation. According to the agreement, the two schools will exchange up to 3 undergraduate/graduate students annually beginning in the fall semester (2005). Furthermore, KUBS will explore a diverse range of areas in which to collaborate with Corvinus University, such as developing academic programs and joint research projects, as well as exchanging faculty. Located in the capital of Hungary and founded in 1948, Corvinus University of Budapest is a large institution with a comprehensive curriculum, enrolling about 17,000 students. It is known for its well regarded economics, business, and political science and administration programs. Moreover, its business school’s excellence in management education and research activities have garnered the university a high level of international recognition. It is the only business school in Hungary and the very first in Middle Eastern Europe to join the ‘CEMS’ (Community of European Management School), which it did in 1996. The University has also earned membership in the organization ‘PIM’ (Partnership in International Management) in 2001.
