1. 해외교 지원절차 (서류 준비 및 제출 등)
The application process of applying in the exchange program and getting the NUS offer can the following steps:

Apply for KUBS’s Exchange Program—> Accept/ Decline Offer —> Apply for Housing —> Student’s Pass Application —> Registration Part One —> Module Registration —> Orientation Briefing —> Registration Part Two + Student’s Pass Formalities

Firstly, I applied for the exchange program for the first semester of 2020, so I submitted the application materials in July 2019 and took the offline interview in early August. If you are not in Korea, you can also apply for an online interview. In October, I received an email from NUS that ask me to upload my profile photo. Then, I received an official offer in two weeks. Moreover, I started to apply for my Visa and accommodation.
Before leaving Korea, it is compulsory to participate in farewell and submit some files, which are:
① 보호자 동의서
② 서약서
③ 출국신고서
④ Insurance
⑤ Notice of Arrival (This file needs to be signed by office manager after arriving at the NUS, then scan it and email to KUBS outbound exchange program manager.)
(Please refer to the announcement on the official website of Korea University Business School.)

2. 비자 준비과정
Applying for Visa (Student Pass) is divided into two parts. At first, it needs to complete Part ONE and pay Miscellaneous Student Fees (MSFs). NUS will email students about information and requirements, so remember to check the email regularly. Besides, Part One needs to be completed in Korea, while the remaining Part Two and Student Pass need to be completed in Singapore.
Before entering Singapore, exchange students have to bring the following files:
① In-Principle Approval Letter
② eForm 16
③ Terms & Conditions of Student’s Pass (STP)
④ Medical Examination Report (if applicable)
(Please refer to requirements on the official information of the National University of Singapore.)

3. 수업 (수강 신청, 수업 진행 방법 등)
At the beginning of December, I selected 6 modules through the education records system of NUS, which is similar to our preferred course list system. If there have any vacancies for exchange students, the module will be added automatically. More importantly, it is related to the list of your modules, so I recommended to rank your the most preferred module at the top. Moreover, NUS will send an email to guide the module registration. Hence, you better check your mailbox frequently. Besides, you can look through the syllabus or arrange modules on the NUS timetable (https://nusmods.com). You can make further adjustments to your selection of modules by this website (https://myedurec.nus.edu.sg/). If you did not get the course that you want to take, there is still has a chance to enroll in the modules as long as it has vacancies. However, it is required to write a convincing reason to appeal to the course.

I applied three modules, which were Service operation management, Asia business environment, and Human capital management.
Service operation management:
This module does not have any exam but has lots of readings and assignments, including an article presentation that needs to write an article critique, a group presentation that needs to submit a group project report, an assignment/test and two learning journals. Participation counts 20% of the evaluation, which means I have to participate in class discussions and share my perspectives in Luminus.

Asia business environment:
About 80% of exchange students are attended in this course, which does not have a midterm test but a final examination. There are a group presentation and a group report. The group assignment should be done after each group presentation, which means all peer groups need to submit a group paper to evaluate the presenting group’s performance. Furthermore, actively participate in class, the professor will upload problem sets in advance so that students could have time to solve and explain it in class.

Human capital management:
Firstly, HCM only has a group presentation and final exam without group report, but do have many individual assignments. Secondly, it requires to choose three chapters to answer weekly group presentation questions and submit 3 one-pager answers. Although there is no midterm exam, the individual assignment is required during the midterm period. I recommend previewing the textbook before taking the course. Since TA will record what you have said when you discuss or speak out in class, so make sure your point of view is delivered accurately.

Further, two online modules should be completed before the end of the semester. Therefore, logging in Luminus System to complete the online module.

4. 속소 (기숙사 신청, 기숙사 시설, 외부 숙소 정보 등 ) 및 식사
1)기숙사 신청
There are three rounds to apply for on-campus accommodation. In the first round, NUS allows us to choose three types of room. Many types of rooms are available, including Prince George's Park Residences, UTown Residence, Kent Ridge Hall, PGP House, Cinnamon (USP) College, Tembusu College, etc. Please refer to the following site to get more information about accommodation. (http://nus.edu.sg/osa/student-services/hostel-admission/non-graduating/application-guide). Besides, I strongly recommend applying for the room with an air-conditioner as Singapore is really hot!!!! I lived in PGPR because my application of UTown has not been successfully approved. Personally, living in UTown is more fascinating since there are more foreigners and many activities that I can join in.

2)기숙사 시설
There are many facilities that can be used in the Prince George's Park Residences. Including a laundry, reading room, game room, printers, gym, basketball court, ping-pong tables, etc. Some facilities are open 24 hours a day. The laundry and printer can use Ezlink card to make a payment. Moreover, NUS has two free swimming pools, one is in the Sports Center and the other one is in UTown.

3)식사
The price in Singapore is pretty much the same as that in Korea. There are many food courts in school and the average meal is around 5000 won, but the restaurant in shopping mall is more expensive, at least about three times as the school's food court. I lived in the PGPR, where has three food courts, and it usually closes at 8 pm. One of them is called Super Snack, which is open until 12 pm but mainly sells fast food. However, I would like to dine at UTown since it has more options and brings me various dishes from all over the world.

5. 학교 관련 기타 정보 (부대시설, 동아리, 교환학생을 위한 프로그램 등)
There are a lot of activity's invitations that will send to your email so that you can register in advance before a semester begins. As for me, I joined one group called the Korean Culture Interest Group and an exchange student group on FB, where many people posted invitation information about activities. Of course, you can also make a lot of new friends who can travel together.

6. 해외교 International Office (위치, 담당자, 받은 도움 등)
I am not sure if there have been any personnel changes, so I suggest to go through the official website to find the email address(http://www.nus.edu.sg/gro/student-exchange.php). Besides, the NUS Business School Office is on the second floor of the Biz1.

7. 기타 (현지에서의 생활, culture shock 등)
Transportation: Ezlink card is available at subway stations and convenience stores. It can be used not only for transportation but also to pay laundry and printing fees.
Communication: You can buy a S$15 Happy card or SIM card from a convenience store. Tips: Do not buy a happy card from the airport, because it is mainly sold to tourists with a high price.
Bank card: I applied for a bank card of OCBC. It required the certification of accommodation, besides the basic documents like the passport and student pass. It is quite convenient for me since I can directly transfer money online and check my consumption records at any time.
Entertainment: In addition to many shopping malls, there are also many cafe and bars in Singapore. Every Wednesday is called “Lady’s Night”, while ladies can get the free entry and drinking.
Tourism: Singapore is pretty closed to Malaysia with convenient transportation. Since we have two reading weeks in one semester, it allows me to have enough time to travel to Cambodia, Thailand, Bali and other Southeast Asian countries.

8. 교환학생 프로그램 관련 전반적인 의견
This exchange program brings me not only memorable experiences but also a significant contribution to my life, which further helps my future development. Therefore, I strongly recommend applying for this exchange program to enrich yourself, experience different learning atmosphere and have cross-cultural communication.
