Korea University Business School and Korea University School of Cyber Security in Republic of Korea (hereafter Korea University) has signed a MOU with Bagabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Bangladesh (hereafter BDU) in September 2021. The MOU ceremony was held online between two parties and also with the presence of delegates from Asian Development Bank (hereafter ADB). The main purpose of the MOU is to develop mutual cooperation on the basis of equality and reciprocity and to promote relations and mutual understanding between both Universities by establishing digital learning related department including IT, Cyber Security, Data Science etcetera at BDU and to conduct research related to those fields. As the both Universities shares the common interest in regard to digital learning therefore wished to expand the basis of friendship to cooperative educational exchange.

In 2018, Bangladesh government founded BDU as a part of project “vision 2021”, in order to create digital Bangladesh which will inaugurate in 2022. BDU is expected to offer specific courses in the latest digital trends such as Network & Communication Management, Internet of Things (IoT), and Information & Communication Technology in education including Data Analytics. Beside these courses, BDU will also offer distance learning program that provides online certification in digital learning as well as cyber security.

Korea University on the other hand will extensively provide its support to BDU to successfully achieve its vision with implementation of scholar’s exchange program, support to administrative staffs & students, cooperation in research, curriculum structuring & development, faculty & staff training along with exchange of academic materials, publication and other scientific information. Furthermore, Korea University will also collaborate and exchange auxiliary resources to help operate modern libraries at BDU.

Similarly, in reference to this project, ADB will support with various funding to BDU specially in regard with focusing on the development of software rather than the hardware or University facilities. In particular, ADB will also provide financial assistance for other important fields such as scholarships, research grants, stipends to academic & students etcetera. This Project is estimated to last for five years.
