“[We] will establish the status of world-class research facility” Interview with Seungweon Yu, KU MBA Vice President of Research Planning

Starting as the Department of Plutology in 1950, KUBS became the nation’s first business school in 1955, and it has never let go of the title No.1. In the center of all these achievements stand our professors with global research capacities and alumni acting as global leaders in every part of the society.
Through unremitting effort for past 20 years, KUBS have finally met the global standard as a research faculty. "The world business schools ranking for research performance” conducted by University of Texas proves it. Since 2006, KUBS won first place in national research ranking for 9 consecutive years. KUBS also made it into the world top 100 in 2011, and rank 89 in 2014.
Recently a monitoring group from AACSB visited our KUBS, and EQUIS will visit our school next year. In addition, the ‘BK21 PLUS’ project with the Ministry of Education is still actively operating. The prestigious international certification and BK21 PLUS project will be a major challenge to maintain world-class research capacities. Under the vision of ‘Global top 30, and Asia No.1’ I will try my best to reach these goals and help KUBS prosper.
