On October 25, KUBS Buddy, the student organization at Korea University Business School, held a cultural experience event in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province. 

KUBS Buddy and exchange students visited Tando port and the sweet potato farm in Daebu Island and participated in various programs. Students enjoyed their time at the mudflat, capturing mussels while wearing rubber boots. In addition, they used a weeding hoe and a pick to harvest sweet potatoes on the farm.

 

 

”Experiencing the mudflat is very new to me since my hometown, Austria, is a landlocked country. Also, this was my first time harvesting sweet potatoes,” said Marco Rodriguez Varela, the KUBS exchange student who attended the event. “I was able to enjoy the unique sides of Korean culture through the KUBS Buddy’s cultural experience event,” he added.

Started in 2011, KUBS Buddy is designed to help KUBS exchange students settle in at Korea University, as well as life in Korea. Recognized as the official affiliated volunteer organization, KUBS International Office involves in diverse programs each semester.
