178 Students Awarded Scholarships in Fall Term
 

On October 20 at 7:00 PM, the Fall 2016 KUBS Scholarship Awards Ceremony was held at Ahn Young Il Hall in LG-POSCO Building. At the ceremony, former KUBS Dean Dong-One Kim, former Associate Dean Hosun Rhim, and donors, including Cheon-gu Heo (president of KOSAC), Deok-hee Cho (vice president of Small Rock Investment), Jae Joong Shim (vice president of KUBS Alumni Association), Kwang Soo Seo (Management Committee Member of Chung Pyung Hwa Fashion Mall), Seung Hyun Lee (CEO of INFAC), Junghee Shim (Director of Chongjo Clean Tech), Jong Kyun Yoo (Managing Director of KCC Corporation), Jaebeom Kim (vice CEO of Taurus Investment Management), Gyojin Kang (CEO of Ilsung Resort), KUBS professor Kwanho Suk, Jong Yoon Chae (Director of Heemin Capital), and 130 scholarship recipients were present.
 
The ceremony began with the welcoming remarks by Dean Kim followed by the presentation of scholarship certificates and dinner with donors and students. Then, the guest’s welcoming remarks, student representative’s thank you speech, and a commemorative photo shoot were held.
 
KUBS offered a total of 37 scholarship funds this semester and granted to 178 KUBS students: △KUBS Dream Scholarship (41 students), △Future Scholarship (43 students), △Soam Scholarship (12 students), △Freshmen Special Scholarship (9 students), △J. K. Huh Foundation Scholarship (7 students), △Yang Young Foundation Scholarship (7 students), △Kowon Shimwoo Foundation Scholarship (6 students), △81st Batch of AMP Scholarship (6 students), etc.
 
“As a KUBS student who will grace our school in the future, remember this scholarship you received today. KUBS will support you for your development,” Dean Dong-One Kim said in his welcoming remarks.
 
After the presentation of scholarship certificates, the guest’s welcoming remarks continued. “A true entrepreneur satisfies customers by providing high quality products and services,” KOSAC president Cheon-gu Heo said.
 
“As I am receiving this scholarship, I am wondering how can I proudly stand in front of the donors,” said Hankyul Joo (Business Administration, ’11), who received an 81st Batch of AMP Scholarship. “In order to become a donor contributing to society and the nation, I have been working on my studies and business simultaneously since my freshman year.”
 
A total of 178 students were awarded scholarships, totaling 450 billion won, through the 37 scholarship funds. As of now, the percentage of students receiving scholarships including both △internal scholarships and △external scholarships, is 69.3% (scholarship overlap counted).
