The Best and Largest Faculty in Korea

Korea University Business School (KUBS) prides itself for having the best faculty in Korea. As of Fall 2016, KUBS has a total of 123 members of the professoriate faculty, including 86 full-time professors, 17 invited professors, 5 adjunct professors, 4 international joint appointment professors, and 7 research professors. This is the largest faculty size among Korean colleges. KUBS offers seven areas of study: △Management, △International Business, △Marketing, △Finance, △Accounting, △LSOM, and △MIS.
The KUBS faculty consists of scholars who earned their doctorate degrees from the most prestigious business schools from all over the world, such as Harvard University (2 professors), University of Pennsylvania Warton School (3 professors), Stanford University (4 professors), MIT (1 professor), University of Oxford (1 professor), University of Cambridge (1 professor), Cornell University (1 professor), and Columbia University (2 professors). KUBS annually appoints more than one new professor (△2 professors in 2012, △3 professors in 2013, △2 professors in 2014, △1 professor in 2016) to maintain its outstanding faculty. In addition, the KUBS faculty has been demonstrating remarkable research performance while constantly publishing their papers not only in Korean journals but also in world-renowned journals. In the Business & Economics subject area of the “THE World University Rankings 2016-2017 by Subject,” KUBS is the one and only university in Korea to be named within the top 100, being 76th in the world. At the same time, the business school placed 97th worldwide and 1st in Korea in the Economics and Business subject area of the “2017 Best Global Universities Rankings.” Moreover, KUBS ranked 77th in the world (as of September), which is the highest in Korea, in the “SSRN Top 100 Business School Rankings.”
Not only that, the KUBS faculty has been leading the field of business administration by taking executive roles in academic societies. Professor DaeSoo Kim (LSOM) is president of the Korean Production & Operations Management Society and the Korea Association of Procurement and Supply Management. Professor Kwangtae Park (LSOM) serves as president of the Korean Association of Small Business Studies. Professor Sang Yong Kim (Marketing) has been elected as the next president of the Korean Marketing Association and will serve a two-year term, effective April 2017.
