A scholarship ceremony, along with ‘Class of 1986 Alumni Night,’ was held at the Korea University Alumni Building on Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. The event was attended by about 60 graduates, scholarship recipients, and Vice Dean Hojung Shin.
The Class of 1986 graduates, who will mark the 30th anniversary of their admission next year, donated 5 million won in scholarships with their love for their alma mater. The scholarship will be given to Kim (Class of ’11).
Kang Kyo-jin, President of the Association, said, "We held a scholarship ceremony to help our undergraduates who will grow up to be leaders of Korea."
The recipient student, identified by his family name Kim, said, "Thank you again for the meaningful scholarship, and I will always try to become a great student."
Meanwhile, it is not the first time for the Class of 1986 to donate scholarships to foster undergraduates. The donation ceremony, which began in 2013, was launched to promote harmony among schoolmates, and has established itself as a venue for the development of their alma mater.
"We sincerely thank you for your deep gratitude, as you support the development of your alma mater and the growth of undergraduates," said Kim Dong-One, Dean of KUBS. "We will work hard to support students who are financially struggling."
