First Female Graduate from KUBS Donates 500 Million Won

Jeon Yun-ja (Admitted ‘51), the first female KUBS graduate, has donated 500 million won for the KUBS scholarship fund. Jeon Yun-ja's family and KUBS students attended the donation ceremony, which took place at 3 p.m. on March 23. Jeon Yun-ja herself, Lee Yang-sub (Chairman of MESOTEC), Kim Dong-One (Dean of KUBS) and Rhim Hosun (Vice Dean) also attended the event.

"In the 1950s, it was new for girls to study business administration, but now many female students have learned business administration and are active in all parts of society," said Jeon. "I hope that they will be confident in the areas that they want and will be the foundation for social development."

In order to set an example for undergraduates as the first female graduate of KUBS, Jeon decided to donate his Busan-based property in 2010 and pay rent proceeds from real estate for 10 years by 2020 as a "Jeon Yun-ja Scholarship." The scholarship will be used for female students at Korea University.
