Guidelines for Issuance of Dean/Department Chair Recommendation Letters

for International Undergraduate Students

 

 

1. Eligibility and Purpose

- Eligibility: Regular international undergraduate students enrolled in Korea University Business School (KUBS)
- Purpose: For applications to internal or external scholarships, graduate school programs, internships, and other programs that require a recommendation letter issued under the name of the Dean or Department Chair

 

2. Contents of the Recommendation Letter

- Recommendation letters are issued using standard recommendation statements only (i.e., the general recommendation statement and additional recommendation statements).
- If you require specific or subjective comments beyond the standard recommendation statements, please request a recommendation letter from your academic advisor or another faculty member.
- Recommendation letters are issued with the official seal (Korean stamp) of the Dean or Department Chair. Handwritten signatures are not available.

 

3. Recommendation Letter Format

- Free format: The KUBS Administration Team will insert the standard recommendation statements into the attached sample format.
- Designated format: Submit the designated form by email, and the KUBS Administration Team will insert the standard recommendation statements.

 

4. Application Procedure

- [Required] Complete the attached Application for a Dean/Department Chair Recommendation Letter and submit it by email.
- [If applicable] Submit the designated recommendation letter form and supporting documentation together with the application form by email.
- Submission Email: kubs.intl.undergrad@korea.ac.kr
- After receiving the notification email, you may either pick up the original copy in person or receive a PDF copy by email.

 

5. Processing Time

- Recommendation letters are issued within 2–3 business days.
- Recommendation letters are processed through an internal approval procedure and are not issued simply by affixing the official seal.
- Please allow sufficient time before your recommendation letter submission deadline.

 

6. Important Notes

- Requests submitted on the day before or the day of the recommendation letter submission deadline cannot be processed.
