1. Cognate Courses Approved as Core General Education

“Core General Education Approval Policy," which approves a cognate course among major-related general education as a core general education, has been implemented by Institute for General Education at Korea University since 2010.

Thus, the following cognate courses below can be approved as core general education of the sub-area. However, only one course will be approved as core general education during your undergraduate years. A cognate course offered by your department is excluded from the Core General Education Approval Policy.

Also, courses taken prior to 2010 will not be approved.

2. How to Apply

Complete the “Core General Education Approval Application Form” provided below and submit it to the corresponding department office during the Preliminary Graduation Qualification Review period. Please note that only the course(s) that is shown on your transcript will be approved.

If you do not apply, the cognate courses listed below will remain as major-related general education.
