Three Days Conference from June 24 (Sun) with 120 Accounting Researchers from Europe, U.S.A., Asia
Korea University Business School (Dean Soo Young Kwon)’s IBRE Accounting and Taxation Research Center (Director=Professor Seok Woo Jung) held ‘Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance Conference (JAAF Conference)’ in collaboration with Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The JAAF Conference will be held at Lotte Hotel, Jeju, from June 24th to 27th.
Opening with a welcoming banquet on the 24th, more events at 2018 JAAF Conference will be held in 25th and 26th. A total of 35 sessions will be held for discussions on research areas in depth. The sessions include discussions on auditing, earnings management, financial reporting, and accounting standards. The sessions will be opened by thesis presentation of renowned accounting researchers across the world, including △Professor Cathy Shakespeare, University of Michigan △Professor Illia Dichev, Emory University △Professor Panos Patatoukas, University of California, Berkeley.
2018 JAAF Conference will mainly discuss the revision of the auditing system in Korea and its expected consequences, as well as thesis presentations. Yeong-Kyun Ahn, Vice President of the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants (KICPA), will deliver the revised details of auditing system and their expected outcome. Professor CHOI, JONG HAG at Seoul National University, Professor Reichelt at Louisiana State University, Hwan-Seok Cho at EY Korea, Moon-Won Choi, CEO at Grant Thornton Daejoo International Ltd. will be the participants of the debate. At gala dinner on the 25th, Joong-Kyung Choi, President at KICPA, will deliver a speech on the auditing system revision.
2018 JAAF Conference is an academic event specially organized for the 60th year anniversary of IBRE at KUBS. Accounting and Taxation Research Center is a center for improving research performance on taxation and accounting, and educating experts in professional and academic accounting by conducting collaborative researches with accounting firms. The main tasks of the center are △assistance on accounting and taxation research △academic exchanges on accounting and taxation △research thesis and other publications △an advisory service to auditing △education sessions and lectures.
