KUBS Meeting with Renmin Business School, Renmin University of China for Collaborative Work on Case Studies
On July 17th, Korea University Business School (Dean Soo Young Kwon) had a meeting with Renmin Business School at Renmin University of China to discuss cooperative work on case studies. The meeting was held at Renmin University of China, where a total of nine professors at KUBS and four professors at Renmin University of China attended. The participants were Dean Soo Young Kwon, Director of IBRE Chan Su Park, Professor Doo-Hee Lee (former dean at KUBS) from KUBS, and Associate Dean Kangtao Ye, Associate Dean Hua Song, former Dean Zhihong Yi, Director of Research Center for Management Cases and Teaching Innovations Jingyue Xu.
 

 
In the meeting, KUBS and Renmin Business School discussed the shared access to Chinese companies’ case studies, publication of Korean businesses’ case studies translated in Chinese, and collaborative work on new case studies.
 
Renmin University of China puts emphasis on developing new case studies of diverse areas of study. Renmin University of China runs Chinese Center for Social Science Cases (CCSSC), and each department at the university operates own case center. The number of case studies owned by Renmin Business School is over 300, inclusive of publications in Chinese and English.

Back in the early 2000s, KUBS’s Institute of Business Research and Education (IBRE) raised fund for research and academic cooperation with Renmin University of China. The meeting held in 17th will also be a big step for further academic exchanges between the two universities.
 

Prior to the meeting, the KUBS professors visited Didi Chuxing, China’s top ride-sharing company, to hear a brief business presentation and have a consultation with Vice President of Department of Finance, Law and Sales Fu Maggie. The consultation was mainly on Didi Chuxing’s business strategy of entering the overseas market, and strategy for new technologies such as smart traffic light.
