Around 60 KUBS students and alumni gathered to play in the Fall Term FC KMBA Soccer Tournament at Nokgee Field on September 4.
On September 4, the Fall Term FC KMBA Soccer Tournament, hosted by Korea MBA (KMBA)’s soccer club, was held at Nokgee Field. At the tournament, KUBS Dean Dong-One Kim and Associate Dean Seung-Weon Yoo, who is faculty advisor of KMBA Soccer Club, attended to celebrate the game. Around 60 KMBA students from the Entering Class of ’15 and ’16 and alumni were present as well.
“Our soccer tournament for the fall term has successfully ended, following the spring term soccer tournament held at Paju National Football Center where about 80 students made a presence,” FC KMBA President Wonseok Jung (’15) said. “The best part about our soccer club is that KMBA students can continue to build a strong network with alumni as they play together in a soccer tournament and biannual soccer game.” This tournament was conducted on a round-robin basis with the following three teams: the Entering Class of ’15, the Entering Class of ’16, and KMBA Alumni.
The alumni team drew 1-1 with the ’16 team in the first match and prevailed over the ’15 team 4-0 in the second match. In the final match, the ’16 team beat the ’15 team 4-0. Although both alumni team and ’16 team won two times throughout the tournament, the trophy went to the alumni team based on their total number of goals scored. After the tournament, there was an unofficial match between alumni and KMBA students. The KMBA students defeated alumni 2-0 in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 tie.
Aside from FC Soccer Club, KMBA runs various sports clubs, such as soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, scuba diving, band, and golf. These clubs, which were founded by those who share common interests and hobbies, bring positive energy into their school life and also maintain an alumni network.
