According to the 2016 Certified Public Accountant Examination results, Korea University (KU) ranked No. 1 by producing an overwhelming number of successful CPA candidates. KU once again reaffirms its position as the best institute for nurturing certified public accountants over the most recent five years (2012 – 2016).
The media reports announced that KU produced a total of 118 successful CPA candidates, which is the highest number among universities in Korea. KU has 20 more successful candidates than Yonsei University (98), which is considered to be No. 2.

Based on the performance over the last five years, this is the first time having the largest gap between No. 1 and No. 2 in the CPA rankings. There was prospect that KU will have the highest successful pass rates since the university already has the greatest number of successful candidates (169) on the first CPA exam. Korea University, ranking No. 1 in producing overwhelming number of successful candidates on the first exam in 2015 and 2016, successfully secured its top position to live up to expectations.
Such achievements were made possible thanks to the unconditional support from KUBS. The college runs the CPA Prep Program called “Jeongjincho (Advisor=Professor Han Sang Yi)” and provides full support to help students with their CPA study. In addition to that, Jeongjincho offers gathering events with alumni from accounting firms and various lectures. All KU students and graduates are eligible to join the program.
Meanwhile, a total of 909 candidates passed the 51st CPA Exam according to the Financial Supervisory Service. Out of 2,779 exam takers for CPA held from June 25 to June 26, those who scored 330 points or higher have been selected as successful CPA candidates.
