Spring 2016 KUBS Scholarship Awards Ceremony
212 students were awarded through 37 scholarship funds…Hoping they will grow as a leader who contributes to society and shows love for KUBS juniors
 
 
On May 24 at 7:00 PM, the Spring 2016 KUBS Scholarship Awards Ceremony was held at Ahn Young Il Hall in LG-POSCO Building. At the ceremony, KUBS Dean Dong-One Kim, Associate Dean Hosun Rhim, and donors, including Jun Tae Yeon (President of ChungRyun Inc.), Jae Joong Shim (Vice President of KUBS Alumni Association), Kwang-sik Kim (CEO of Hyundai Polytech), Kwang Soo Seo (Management Committee Member of Chung Pyung Hwa Fashion Mall), Cheol Ki Choi (CEO of J. K. Huh Foundation), Yeochan Yoon (CEO of Chongjo Eng & Con Co. Ltd), Sunbak Kim (CEO of SK NeTruck), Dong Shin Lee (President of EMBA Alumni Association), Seung Hyun Lee (CEO of INFAC), Jong Kyun Yoo (Managing Director of KCC Corporation), Seung Hoe Goo (Chief Operating Officer of Samjeong KPMG), Gyojin Kang (CEO of Ilsung Resort Co.Ltd), Seung-hoon Yeom (Managing Director of Samjeong KPMG), Gyu Dong Lim (Director of Samtan), and Jin Park (HR Operations Director of Hyundai Motors Compnay), and 170 scholarship recipients were present. The ceremony opened with the welcoming remarks by KUBS Dean Dong-One Kim followed by the presentation of scholarship certificates, guest's welcoming remarks, student representative's thank you speech, and a commemorative photo shoot.
 
 
 
KUBS offered a total of 37 scholarship funds this semester, and 212 KUBS students were awarded: △Academic Scholarship (1 student), △Freshmen Special Scholarship (8 students), △J. K. Huh Foundation Scholarship (8 students), △Kowon Shimwoo Foundation Scholarship (8 students), △KCC Scholarship (4 students), △Yang Young Foundation Scholarship (6 students), △Kim Geun-Chang Scholarship (4 students), △Future Scholarship (65 students), △Alumni Scholarship and KUBS Dream Scholarship (75 students), etc.
 
 
“The KUBS Scholarship Awards Ceremony is very meaningful as it brings scholarship recipients and donors together,” Dean Dong-One Kim said in his welcoming remarks. “The event has given the students an opportunity to meet the donors in person and also to receive advice.”
 
“Cherish this sharing moment of receiving a scholarship as a KUBS student, and promise me that when entering into society, you will become a talented individual who give back to your community and alma mater,” Dean Dong-One Kim told awardees.

 
 
After the presentation of scholarship certificates, one of the guests also delivered his welcoming remarks. “I am grateful for meeting such wonderful KUBS students every time I visit my alma mater,” Jun Tae Yeon (Business Administration, ’56), president of Kowon Shimwoo Association, said. “Even when times are tough, never give up and fulfill your ambitions. I hope all of you will grow as a leader who contributes to society in the future.”
 
 
“As I have received this meaningful scholarship purporting to alleviate financial burden, I will devote myself to my collegiate studies even harder,“ Jinwook Park (Business Administration, ’12), a recipient of the Future Scholarship, said.
 
A total of 212 students were granted scholarships, which amounted to 410 billion won in total, through the 37 scholarship funds. As of 2016, the percentage of students receiving scholarships, including both △University Scholarships and △Outside Scholarships, is 73.4% (scholarship overlap counted).
