KUBS Receives AACSB Accreditation For the 4th Consecutive Time
... became the first AACSB-certified business school in Korea in 2005
... now certified for the 4th consecutive time in 2020
Korea University Business School (Dean=Jae Wook Kim) has been certified as “Business Accreditation” school for the fourth consecutive time by the AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business).
KUBS, which was certified by the AACSB in 2005 for the first time in the country, already achieved a remarkable achievement in 2010 and 2015 respectively. By succeeding in its accreditation for the fourth consecutive time, KUBS has proved once again its status as a global top-tier business school.
AACSB is a non-profit organization founded in 1916 by major university principals in the United States. It establishes the standards for the world-renowned business schools and award international accreditations after rigorous screening. The accreditations are held by the world's leading business schools, including Yale, Columbia, Boston University and UCLA. As of January 2020, 862 schools in 56 countries hold AACSB accreditations.
To extend the accreditation, AACSB peer review team visited KUBS from November 10-12th to examine the overall operation of the school, including faculty, credits, curriculum and research. "The Business Analytics (BA) program, which will be newly established from 2020, is very impressive," the team said, adding that KUBS “aims to meet what the society needs and provide customized education services accordingly.” The team also cited excellent professors, students and curriculum as well as the recent results from Startup Institute, Digital Transformation and the “Business for Society” project with SK Corporation.
"KUBS is the only business school in Korea to receive the AACSB accreditation for four times in a row," said Jae Wook Kim, Dean. "We will do our best to solidify our status globally."
Not surprisingly, KUBS has been ranked △1st in Korea for 12 years in a row, evaluated by HR managers from the top 300 companies (Hankyung Business), △1st in Korea for 7 years in a row for its MBA program (Hankyung Business), △1st in Korea in its number of graduates working as CEOs (CEO Score Daily), △27th in the world for its E-MBA program and 1st in Korea (Financial Times).
The review session for EQUIS (EFMD Quality Implementation System), yet another international accreditation held by KUBS, will be conducted in May this year.
