“Endeavoring to Strengthen Inner Values and Increase a Sense of Belonging for KUBS Members”
Q. Congratulations on your appointment as the Associate Dean for Graduate School of Korea University Business School (KUBS). Could you share a few words with us?
I will do my very best not to disgrace the achievements that the former deans and management teams have made. Since the last KUBS Management Team, an additional Associate Dean has been appointed to the team which I believe this will enable us to divide the work base on expertise. Previously, Korea University Business School (KUBS) has exceled in a variety of areas such as funding and buildings. Thus, we will henceforth be focusing on strengthening inner values of KUBS. I will endeavor to create atmosphere where all KUBS members, including faculty, staff, and students, feel included and to give them motivation to work harder.
I am in charge of KUBS International Office and Evaluation which are divided into four categories: International Accreditation, Student Exchange Program, Global Internship, and International Evaluation. With regards to the international accreditation, we have completed the peer review process of both AACSB and EQUIS conducted in 2014 and 2015, respectively. In the end of 2018, we are planning to prepare for the CEMS Peer Review. In terms of Student Exchange Program, the number of applicants for the Outbound Program has been on a declining trend. Thus, my goal is to increase student exchange agreements with prestigious universities all over the world including the U.S. so that we can send out more students to superior universities.
Unfortunately, the Global Internship is on the decrease as well. We aim to enhance the quality and quantity of internship opportunities as much as possible in order to boost its trend.
Finally, thanks to the former Associate Dean Hojung Shin, KUBS has been demonstrating remarkable results in various rankings. However, there is clearly no room for complacency. We will strive to be ranked higher.
