A Special Moment for Future Little Tigers: The 18th Youth Mentoring Day

On January 25, the 18th Youth Mentoring Day (hereinafter Mentoring Day) was held at the LG-POSCO Hall and Hyundai Motor Hall at Korea University Business School (KUBS, Dean: Eonsoo Kim). This event, designed for high school students across the country, was organized by KUBS Student Ambassadors (hereinafter KUBE), with KUBS students serving as mentors. Mentoring Day featured a diverse program, including: △Introduction to KUBS, △Overview of the 9 majors within the Business program, △Special Lecture on Business studies by Professor Weon Sang Yoo, △Campus Tour, △Hands-on Business Practice Sessions, and △Talk with senior students.

The introduction to KUBS began with a tour of its three buildings: KUBS Main Building, LG-POSCO Hall, and Hyundai Motor Hall. KUBE emphasized, "It is highly significant for a single college to use three dedicated buildings." Additionally, they highlighted that “LG-POSCO Hall and Hyundai Motor Hall were built entirely through donations from alumni, making them even more meaningful.” The session also introduced the ‘Dream Scholarship’, a scholarship program unique to KUBS. ‘Dream scholarship’, which provides living expense support, is one of the proudest features of KUBS. The students also learned about opportunities for exchange programs facilitated by the KUBS International Affairs team. The event also highlighted various aspects of student life at Korea University, including the annual Ko-Yon games, which all Korea University students can enjoy.  Next, professor Weon Sang Yoo delivered a special lecture on marketing, covering the definition of marketing, areas of management, and practical applications that give insight into the marketing major offered at KUBS.

In the afternoon, activities included a campus tour, business practice sessions, and mentoring. The campus tour allowed participants to explore the Business School buildings—KUBS Main Building, LG-POSCO Hall, and Hyundai Motor Hall—as well as some parts of the Korea University campus, including the Main Hall and the Central Plaza. The event concluded with a mentoring session and a closing ceremony. During the mentoring session, participants asked questions about tips for admission to KUBS, including advice on managing academic records. The mentors offered practical advice on internal assessments and the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) and provided encouragement to the students from their own experiences. KUBE expressed their hopes saying, "We look forward to seeing you join KUBS as freshmen and becoming our next little tigers."

Meanwhile, the 19th Youth Mentoring Day is scheduled for the upcoming summer break. Students interested in participating can apply through the KUBE website (biz.korea.ac.kr/kube).
