MSBA’s 2nd Capstone Project Presentation held… from business goal setting to process designing
2021 MSBA 2nd Capstone Project Presentation was held on January 14th (Fri). KUBS CDTB (Director= Byung Cho Kim, Baeho Kim) hosted this project to provide an opportunity to contemplate about the tasks and directions of companies regarding Digital Transformation and develop a business model. The event was held both online and offline in accordance with COVID-19 quarantine regulations.
A total of eight teams presented to KUBS professors and cooperating businesses such as △Lotte Members △GS Retail △Korea Credit Information Services △Deloitte Consulting etc. Associate Dean Joon Ho Hwang said “Thanks to the support of cooperating businesses, the capstone project has achieved much. I hope there will be more positive developments with our cooperating businesses.” The event started with presentations, followed by comments from corporate partners and a discussion to select qualifying teams. The event commenced with a speech from Director Byung Cho Kim.
Team 1 (Lee Eun Joo, Jang Won Young, Yoon Ye Seul) presented a project of predicting the CLV(Customer Life Value) of Lotte Members, and developed a model to select high value customers based on their predictions. Team 2 (Bang Min Kyung, Cheon Jiwoo) presented their customer management project using text mining on Lotte Super’s VOC(Voice of Customer) data, and suggested a customer management program based on VOC. A Lotte Member’s staff commented, “Our company made many requests and it was impressive to see how the teams fulfilled them well and turned out an interesting conclusion.”
Team 3 (Lee Sangwon, Lee Jina, Lee Haewon) categorized goods and customers and analyzed the correlation between GS Retail goods based on ‘customer traits and possibility of attracting purchases.’ A GS Retail staff commented, “The team accurately saw the characteristics of GS shops and it was satisfying to see good insight from this project. It makes me eager to develop new products based on this presentation.” Team 4 (Hyun Choonghoon, Hong Sanghee) made a ‘individual business credit evaluation using insurance information’ based on the data of Korea Credit Information Services, and developed a model that predicts the likelihood of overdue payment. The team emphasized the importance of the credit evaluation model because of its precision and recall.
Team 5 (Kim Gunyoung, Park Seungbi, Lee Myunghyun) presented a ‘car accident prediction model using risk-averse variables in insurance data.’ The team explained that this analysis can encourage customers to take care of their credit information. A staff from Korea Credit Information Services said, “the topic was interesting and the contents can be meaningfully implemented into the field.” Team 6 (Shin Eunyoung, Oh Shin Ae) categorized people according to their diabetes indicators and clarified △behavioral △psychological △sociodemographic factors that influence these categories and suggested mitigating factors.
Team 7 (Kong Byunghee, Lee Jun Ah) used big data to develop a ‘villa value assessment.’ Lastly, Team 8 (Hong Ju Sung, Park Ji Young) presented a method to ‘revitalize middle level interest rate loan market by clustering people with middle or low credit scores.’ A staff from Deloitte Consulting said, “It’s meaningful to be aware of the problems of the topic, and the team seems to have great analytical skills.”
Among the eight presenting teams, seven teams qualified and awards were given to Team 2, 3, and 7 that conducted projects of ▲Lotte Members ▲GS Retail ▲Deloitte Consulting. Director Baeho Kim who conducted the second half of the event expressed his gratitude to “the cooperating businesses, the corporate staff, professors, and student presenters who participated in this event.”
