Korea University Business School's (Dean: Kim Jae-wook) Business etiquette education for those who are to participate in the 2019 domestic and international internship during the winter was held on Dec. 5 at LG-POSCO Management Hall No. 107. The education, organized by the International Office of Business Administration, aims to teach students who are about to join internships the basic skills they need at work. The education was conducted in order of orientation related to international internships, lecture on the mindset by Choi Hyun-woo, Professor of Industry-Academic Cooperation at Business School, special lecture by Roh Jung-min, Director of the Gender Equality Center, and Business Etiquette Education by Lim Seon-joo, Senior Lecturer at the Korea CS Management Institute.

First, there was an international internship orientation. Yang Ye-jin, a staff member of the International Internship Orientation, explained in detail the preparations before dispatch, the cautions after arrival, and the materials to submit after returning home.

Later, there was a short lecture by Choi Hyun-woo. Professor Choi Hyun-woo said, "The field training you are going to now will have a huge impact on the career path that you are going to take." He added, "Internships are a very valuable and meaningful experience." "It's important to listen to your seniors who have joined the company or been interned," he said. "Being brave like that can change your experience a lot." "We should think about what we will get from this, not just a simple experience," Choi said. "If we set a specific goal to get something, we will have a much bigger income."

"All members of Korea University are not discriminated against for gender reasons and they have the right to be protected from sexual violence," said Roh Jung-min, director of the gender equality center. "If that happens, you must talk to the school," Roh said. "That's your right and it's your duty to respond accordingly."

Finally, Business Etiquette Education was conducted. Under the theme of "Small but Strong Power, White Paper on Work," the training showed how to make a positive impression on colleagues and bosses. "A positive impression in the workplace is a powerful force that changes your perception of yourself under certain circumstances," said Lim Sun-joo, a lecturer. "This is formed from proper manners," he stressed the importance of manners at the workplace. Lim continued his education by explaining how to make a good impression in facial expressions, dress and personnel management.

Meanwhile, Korea University Business School is the first to adopt the international internship program in Korea. The international internship, which began in 1994, offers business school students a chance to experience vivid field experiences at companies around the world, and so far more than 2,000 students have experienced international internships at 510 companies.
