The 3-day long summit produced significant results, such as the agreement of the publication of the Journal of Asia Pacific Business Cases and the acceptance of the Seoul Declaration for Asia-Pacific Business Education. Dean Edwin Cheng of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University said, “It was a meaningful event in that, not only was it a space for planning the era of Asian business education, it was an event where deans from all over the world could come together to share ideas about the issues that have been building over the years regarding business administration.”
Vance Roley, Dean of Shidler College of Business (University of Hawaii at Manua), also expressed the importance of the Summit by saying, “the creation of a journal representing the emerging Asia-Pacific region is a significant outcome of this meeting.”
With the conclusion of the agreements, KUBS is determined to continuously play a leading role in the field of Asian business education.
Dean Doo-Hee Lee, who directed the whole event, said, “We hosted this event with the belief that, only if we ourselves research and develop the cases in the Asian region, is it possible to usher in the true era of ‘Asian business education’” and “KUBS will play a leading role in continuing and developing the consensus and insight of the global business school deans that was achieved through this summit.”
The deans who participated in the Summit also had the chance to visit the Hyundai Motor Asan Factory and learn the songs and cheers in the annual Ko-Yeon sports festival, showing interest in Korea and KUBS’s advanced business systems and cheering culture.
