KUBS Class of 79 Scholarship Committee Pledges KRW 175 Million in Donations to KUBS 

The KUBS Class of 79 Scholarship Committee, established by graduates of the KUBS Class of 1979, has pledged a KRW 175 million donation to Korea University Business School (KUBS). The donation will support scholarships and research funds aimed at fostering globally competitive talent and advancing entrepreneurship research. 

The 79 Scholarship Committee will contribute the donation over a five-year period, with KRW 35 million donated annually. Of this amount, KRW 15 million will be allocated to the ‘79 Global Scholarship,’ which supports KUBS alumni admitted to master’s or doctoral programs at prestigious international universities. The remaining KRW 20 million will fund activities at the Ijin Center for Startup Incubation. 

The donation ceremony took place on Friday, December 6, during the 42nd KUBS Alumni Night. The event was attended by donors, including Sanghyun Lee (Business 79), Chair of the 79 Scholarship Committee, adding significance to the occasion. Expressing his hopes for the initiative, Sanghyun Lee stated, "We hope this donation provides outstanding students with the opportunity to focus on research and entrepreneurship, ultimately helping them grow into leaders who will drive both academia and industry forward."
