Abstract
As the strategic choice regarding the pattern of international expansion should reflect changing business environments, the Internet and its impact should be incorporated into the model of international expansion. In this article, we draw on absorptive capacity theory to explore the international expansion process in the Internet era. Specifically, we seek to broaden the theoretical interpretation of the absorptive capacity construct and to present it as a unifying framework for predicting diverse trajectories in Internet-driven international expansion.
