2023 Spring Semester Graduate School Application notice for Extensions on Degree Dissertation submission

1. Application Requirements

    1) Extension of the thesis submission deadline (special case): Those who have completed MS or Ph.D. course work but have passed the Degree Dissertation submission term (From the entrance year, 6 years (MS), 10 years (Ph.D.), 12 years (Integrated MS/PhD program) from the entrance) due to unavoidable circumstances and therefore remains as a permanent completion status.

     2) Reexamination (6 months): If the dissertation is rejected in the last semester of the deadline for submitting the thesis for degree, or if the academic advisor requests correction or supplementation, apply for an extension of 6 months.

*Applicants must pass the review of the Graduate School Committee.

2. Required documents

1) Application for extension of deadline for submission

- Application for extension of deadline for submission (refer to attached form)

- Academic advisor’s statement on the progress of the dissertation 

- Evidence (attach at least 10 pages of dissertation content)

- Minutes of the department committee meeting (to be processed by the administrative office)

2) Application for re-examination

- Application for re-examination (refer to attached form)

- Academic advisor’s statement on the progress of the dissertation

3. Submission period: December 1^st (Thu) ~ 23^rd (Fri) 16:00, 2022 **Be punctual**

* Spring Semester: from beginning of June until mid-June, Fall Semester: from beginning of December until mid-December 

4. Location to submit: Administration office of Business School (KUBS Main Building 304)

5. Review period: Applications received in December will be reviewed during winter break (January).  Resume the semester from Spring (Mar 2023)

6. Note (For students who will apply extension of thesis submission deadline only)

1) Students approved by the Graduate School Committee must pass qualification examination of degree dissertation submission, and those who have already passed the examination must also take the comprehensive exam again to submit their dissertations.

- Those who have already passed the foreign language exam during enrolled periods will be exempted from the additional submission of the exam result. 

- The second foreign language test for the doctorial course is applied the same as for enrolled students (the combined master’s/doctoral degree course is the same as the doctoral course)

2) Students approved by the Graduate School Committee must pay tuition (7% of tuition) every semester during regular payment dates to take the qualification test and submit their dissertations.
(Readmission fees are additionally required in the first semester of returning)

3) Application and approval for extension on degree dissertation submission will only be allowed once. Students must submit and pass degree dissertation within two semesters (including the semester when received approval)

4) If a student’s academic advisor during enrollment has retired, academic advisor should be changed to a faculty who is currently in office.
