1. Qualifications

2. Categories of participation

1) Research: Research project related to the “Social Value”

2) Case Study: Case for creating social value by social venture or enterprises

3) Start-up: A business proposal of social venture that can create social value

3. The number of teams will be selected: 15 teams (Total of 60 students)

4. Support & Prize

(1) All selected teams will receive SK scholarship (3,000,000 for Each team, before tax deducted)

(2) Once the project is over (after the final report submission), the winning team will be given an opportunity to participate in the international social value competition

3) 2021 SK Social Value Connect (SOVAC)

- One team will be selected to represent Korea University and present their project, certificate of award and prize (from SK) will be given.

(※ Dates stated above can be slightly changed due to organizer’s circumstances.)

6. Evaluation criteria: Creativity of the research topic, Social value function, forehandedness, importance, etc.

8. Notes

1) <2021 Social Value Research Competition > applicants must be able to register for 2021-2 ‘Social Value Project’ course, and all team members should be enrolled. If a team member takes a leave of absence, the team will be excluded from selection, any support and awards. (Please note that team members may be put to a disadvantage.)

2) Applicants should produce a final project report which had not been submitted into other institutions, such as case competitions, conferences, and research competitions. Even after selected, if there are serious reasons for disqualification, such as duplicate submissions and plagiarism, they may be excluded from the selection and award.

3) An individual is allowed to join only one team.

4)  Selected teams are required to attend mandatory educations throughout the semesters (more than two person from each team should attend).

- Social Value Forum (twice a year), Entrepreneurship Academy (four times a year), Asian Social Venture Competition (once a year) and etc.

5) For a team with student on leave of absence(only spring semester in 2021 is allowed), an income tax deducted scholarship will be awarded.

6) No award shall be made in case the teams do not qualify to be the winning candidates at the end of the competition. 

7) Submitted personal information will be used in an appropriate manner only for the operation of the competition.
