Notice of MS/PhD Mandatory ‘Research Ethics Education’ Course
In order to foster ethical skills that should be established as researchers and to comply with research ethics, it will be Mandatory for students to take the "Research Ethics Education" starting from August 2021, as one of the qualifications to submit their dissertations
1. Detail
- MS/PhD students must take the 'Research Ethics Education' course on Blackboard to submit a thesis/dissertation requesting a Master's/Doctoral degree
* Reference: MS/PhD Enforcement Specifications Article 30 (Human Rights, Gender Equality and Research Ethics Education), Article 43 (Qualification for Submission of Master's Degree), Article 44 (Qualification for Submission of Doctor's Degree), Article 83 (Qualification for Submission of Diploma), Integrated Bachelor and Master’s Course Article 96 (Qualification for Submission of Diploma)
2. Enforcement: Applied to graduating MS/PhD students starting from 2021 August
3. Course Period
I. It is recommended to take the course in the first semester after admission (possible for all students who are enrolled, who took a leave of absence, and graduates)
II. As a qualification requirement for submitting a dissertation, the "Research Ethics Education" must be completed before the start of the application period for the dissertation examination.
* If students have not completed the Research Ethics Educations course, they will not be able to apply for the dissertation examination due to insufficient qualification
4. How to attend the course: Access the Blackboard (https://kulms.korea.ac.kr) Online Course
* Scheduled to be opened on middle of March (4th Week) 2021
* This is an extracurricular Online Education format (it will take approximately 2 hours) and there are no restrictions on the number of students

37.KIRD Online Education Mandatory Courses (Mandatory Course for BK participants) other than Blackboard are also acknowledged for BK participants 37.Any other education content provided by KIRD are not acknowledged except for the mandatory education courses for participants |
I. Graduate Students (Students who do not participate in BK21 Four)
1) Graduate Students must complete the ‘Research Ethics Education’ through Blackboard
2) Original ‘Research Ethics Education’ courses in Blackboard are also acknowledged, as well as the new ‘Research Ethics Education’ which is planned to be open in March 2021.
II. BK21 Four Participants (for relevant students) * Not for students who do not participate in BK21 Four
1) Complete the Research Ethics Education through Blackboard or KIRD Online Education Mandatory Course (Choose one option)
2) Required courses (KIRD Online Education) for BK project participants designated by the Korea Research Foundation are acknowledged (replaced) as the "Research Ethics Education" course only for BK21 Four participants.
3) Any other education content are not acknowledged as the ‘Research Ethics Education’, except for the Mandatory education courses for BK participants provided by the KIRD E-learning website (http://cyber.kird.re.kr)
