2020 Fall Semester Special Leave of Absence Notice

 

Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, Special Leave of Absence can be permitted for Fall Semester of 2020. This case is not calculated into the total period of General Leave of Absence(6 semesters) and Leave of Absence due to Illness(2 semesters), which Freshman or Transfer Student can also apply for. Please be informed with the below information and submit the application to the department/division office of your major.

 

1. Target : Freshmen/Tranfer/Enrolled undergraduate Students who can meet one of the below conditions.

     A. COVID-19 infected or confirmed patient

     B. Who can’t come to Korea from Countries where the restriction of arrival to Korea effects at time you apply ‘Special Leave of Absence’ for 2020 Fall Semester

     - Only who stay in the Countries as indicated at http://www.0404.go.kr/ from MOFA(Ministry of Foreign Affairs)

     - [At the time of ‘Special leave of Absence’ Application] Students who are having difficulty in entering Korea, including delay of visa issuance (Inbound)

     C. [At the time of ‘Special leave of Absence’ Application] Students who are studying abroad or are expected to study abroad. (Outbound)

     - Students who were selected for the Student Exchange Program, Visiting Student Program, Global Internship, etc. by the Korea University or school-level official programs.

 

2. Period and location of Application

     A. When : from August 3 (Mon.) 10:00 ~ November 30 (Mon.) 17:00, 2020

     B. Where to register : Each department     (http://registrar.korea.ac.kr/registrar/college/contact.do)

     C. Tuition Withdrawal

     1) Freshmen or Tranfer Student who apply by September 14(Mon.) 16:00 can be refunded 100% of tuition fee except Entrance Fee. In case of enrolled Student, the 100% of tuition fee can be withdrawn if you apply by that time.

     2) From September 15(Tue.), it’s possible to be withdrawn based on “General Tuition Refund Policy” not following above condition

 

3. Documents needed

     A. Special Leave of Absence Application

     B. Confirmation Letter(Chief Professor or Advisory Professor)

     C. Tuition Fee Refund Form : Bank Account(KUPID-portal uploaded) to be refunded (mandatory )

     D. Confirmation Document of Exchange Student Program (If applicable)

     E. Proof to submit - COVID-19 infected or confirmed patient (if possibly having symptom) verifying confirmation document
