Job Fair 2023: “KUzania” - Discover Your Career Goals and Success.
On September 4th, the Career Development Center of Korea University Business School (Dean=Sang Yong Kim) and the 55th KUBS Student Council FILM co-hosted “KUzania,” the Job Fair 2023, at the Hyundai Motor Hall. With the theme “Amusement Park for Your Career,” the event was open to Korea University students seeking opportunities to connect with alumni and gain insights into their future careers.
The Job Fair proved to be exceptionally popular, with students lining up for on-site applications even before the 10 AM start time. The career counseling session ran from 10 AM to 1 PM, followed by the mentoring and Coffee Chat sessions. During the mentoring, KUBS alumni representing 11 career fields, including strategy & planning, HR, asset management, management consulting, CPA, law school, startups, data analysis, marketing, foreign companies, and investment banking, provided valuable advice to junior students. They also shared personal experiences, ranging from their time on campus to their professional work experiences.
The Coffee Chat, a concept widely recognized in the startup industry, is an imported tradition where people meet face-to-face with individuals from various industries, companies, roles, or schools to exchange information over a cup of coffee. This year's Job Fair introduced a similar experience, allowing students pursuing careers in specific fields to connect with experienced seniors. During the Coffee Chat session, students had the opportunity to ask questions about their career interests openly.
At the even, Career Booths were set up where students could jot down the lecture programs they desired on post-it notes. In exchange, they received various goods and lecture discount coupons. These booths also offered valuable information about career-specific student clubs, competitions, internships, and details about programs and curricula provided by KUBS. The Job Fair, named “KUzania,” which aimed to help students explore career opportunities and aspirations, gained significant interest from over 180 KUBS students and concluded on a positive note.
