 Korea University Business School Holds Listening Session with International Students

On May 19, Korea University Business School held a listening session between the Associate Dean and its international undergraduate students. As the number of international students continues to grow, the session was organized to better understand their academic and daily life experiences and gather direct feedback on ways to improve their campus experience. Students from various countries—including Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, Türkiye, Japan, and Colombia—gathered to share their experiences and perspectives on studying and living in Korea.
The session opened with remarks from Associate Dean Hyeonseung Na. He outlined the support measures currently in place, including a dedicated staff member for international students, a separate email account for international student inquiries, and a faculty advising program. He also introduced upcoming initiatives, including ▲ Instagram content for international students, ▲ an orientation for incoming international freshmen, ▲ career-related lectures for international students, ▲ networking events, ▲ a Korean language coaching program, and ▲ an academic guidebook, saying, "Our goal is to help international students naturally mix with Korean students and enjoy campus life together as members of the business school."

During the session, students shared their experiences adapting to campus life. Several students said they were impressed by Korea's high level of public safety and secure living environment, while others spoke about challenges such as the competitiveness of course registration. Students also noted that senior students and fellow international students from their home countries had been a great help in adjusting to school life, and suggested the need for an information channel for international students and a network connecting graduates.

The meeting also marked the Business School's first official communication event focused on strengthening support for international students. A staff member involved said, "It was a meaningful opportunity to hear directly from international students," adding, "We will continue developing various support programs so that international students can feel a sense of belonging and take an active part in the KUBS community."
Korea University Business School plans to use the feedback gathered during the session to further shape its support measures for international students.
