Educating convergent talent through Enterprise&Education& Research cooperation…MSBA Admissions Brief

The 2023 Admissions Briefing Session for KUBS MS in Business Analytics (hereinbelow MSBA) was held on October 4th (Tue). The session started with greetings from KUBS Associate Dean Junho Hwang. He thanked all participants who are interested in MSBA and introduced competitiveness that only KUBS has. Also, he explained KUBS aims to educate social leaders and shows a lot of performance along with ranked the 1st among Korean Universities in ‘US News&World Report World University Evaluation’ based on our strengths like systematic and full research support, strong KUBS Alumni network and world-class cutting-edge education infrastructure.
Furthermore, KUBS Center for Digital Transformation and Business (hereinbelow CDTB) Director Byungcho Kim was introduced. The center was established to keep pace with the big trend of ‘Digital Transformation’ which cannot be separated from ‘Business Analytics’. He introduced CDTB saying, “Based on the vision of the role of a platform that enables Enterprise, Education and Research cooperation, this center facilities support for MSBA like contact company for CapStone project and administrative work.
The session was followed by a detailed explanation of MSBA by BA Area Chair Baeho Kim. He introduced the course by saying, “MSBA is the first one-year master’s course in Korea” and “We educate analytics experts who are capable of data analysis integrated with business management.
MSBA consists of 6 modules and each module is 2 months long. In the first half, students study essential subjects which cover all fields of business analytics and study more detailed expertise courses along with Capstone project later on. Capstone project is a hands-on project together with the company operator in charge, and data from the company by each personal interest. Chair Bae said, “Capstone project would be an opportunity to utilize the digital technology you’ve learned through class in the field right away.”
And detailed answers were followed to frequent questions before applying to MSBA. Chair Bae said
weekday daytime classes and weekend/nighttime classes will be opened simultaneously so that businessmen can also work and study at the same time. And recorded video class will be provided for the weekday daytime class. Furthermore, he answered we are thinking of a curriculum that people who are non-major in business school with various backgrounds, would have no difficulties in completing the course. The admissions briefing session was successfully completed after Q&A sessions and providing various information to participants who are interested in MSBA.
