Six teams have been selected as tenant teams of the KUBS Startup Institute (Head: Kim Hicheon). The 2019 Startup Express Winter Season, which was held on the second floor of the KUBS Main Building on December 6, was filled with the enthusiasm and ideas of prospective entrepreneurs. The 2019 Startup Express Winter Season – hosted by the Startup Institute, organized by Seung Myung-Ho Center for Entrepreneurship Education and sponsored by the KUBS Research Center and SK SUPEX Social Value Committee Council – is a competition which proposes creative business items based on entrepreneurship and innovation.

First, there was an opening speech by Dean Kim Jae Wook. "All 10 teams that have been selected as presenters today have a great potential," he said. "Even if you don't win, you will get another chance, so I hope you don't feel too sad about the result." He also encouraged the teams to "make efforts with the desire to pursue novelty all the time."
The opening speech by Yoo Shijin then followed. “The Startup Express is an event to select tenant teams which will move into the Startup Institute,” he said. He then named a few honorable graduates who have gone through the Startup Express, such as Taling, Linder and Stipop, and added, "I hope you grow into successful startups as well."
A total of 10 teams, selected through the pre-examination process, participated in the 2019 Startup Express Winter Season event. Some services introduced by the participating teams include: an entertainment platform of celebrities with short videos (Mabsosa), an online platform that sells beauty products to the Mexican market (Abraca), a customizable diary design and production service (Ailo), a sports activity O2O platform (Woondongjang), and so on.
The 2019 Start-up Express Winter Season was held with a five-minute presentation of ideas and a five-minute question and answer session, and the judges evaluated each business model based on its marketability, innovation, business feasibility, and performance capabilities. A total of six teams have been selected, including the Popple, Amp, Woondongjang, Ailo, XstarC and Gochin.
"Kudos to all the teams that have participated in the event," Yoo said in his closing speech. "Those who didn't win the award, we'll try to support you as well, so please continue with the project."
The six teams that won the awards in the 2019 Startup Express Winter Season will have a chance to move into the Startup Institute. Operating expenses will be provided, and continuous advice and sponsorship will be given from the mentors from successful startups, industrial experts and venture capitalists. The selected teams can also share their experiences with existing tenant teams.
