Korea University Business School Ranked TOP 3 in International Case Competition

Korea University Business School (Dean=Jae Wook Kim) ranked third place at the RSM STAR Online Case Competition 2020 organized by Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) of Erasmus University in the Netherlands.
The RSM STAR Case Competition is a competition held in the Netherlands every year, in which four undergraduates team up to analyze and present specific business cases within a given time.
Professor Tony C. Garrett of KUBS participated as a professor of guidance, followed by Shin Ye-in (Business ’15), Kim Dae-eun (Business ‘15), Park Jae-eun (Business ’16), and Lee Joo-young (Business ’17) as representatives. KUBS ranked third after University of St. Gallen of Switzerland and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology).
The finals, held online due to the COVID-19, took place from April 19 to 26 with 12 teams participating. KUBS team participated in the pre-competition last November and won the tickets to the finals, and it is the second time that KUBS has advanced to the finals of the main competition since 2018.
Case of the Royal Philips and Coca-Cola European Partners was presented in the finals, which were divided into six-hour case competition and 24-hour case competition. KUBS ranked third place in the "24-hour case."
Jae Wook Kim, Dean of KUBS, said, "Even though it is a tough situation due to COVID-19, it is more meaningful that the efforts and enthusiasm of professors and students lead to good results," and added, "I am proud that there are students who enhance the status of Korea University Business School not only in Korea but also worldwide through various activities."
Meanwhile, Korea University Business School holds 'KUBS Challenge', an in-school business case competition, every November for undergraduates of the business school, to select the national team. Selected students are given the right to participate in next year's international case competition, and full round-trip air tickets, accommodation and competition registration fees are provided when international competition participation is confirmed. KUBS also assigns advisors to provide training for competitions.
