KUBS opened an information session for the 2019 Winter International Internship on October 10th (Wed) at Room 218, LG-POSCO Building. The session was organized by KUBS International Office, where 15 students attended to hear about detailed information about the internship application. The session went through application period, eligibility, selection criteria, how to apply, followed by Q&A.
The selection is based on △GPA of the last two semesters △English proficiency test score (optional) △English(Chinese) Interview △Interview in Korean △weighted score for students completed regional studies △weighted score for extracurricular activities. If a student would like to apply for an internship in China, s/he is not required to submit the English proficiency test score nor s/he does not have to attend the English interview. Instead, the student is required to attend a Chinese interview.
Any KUBS students who completed more than four semesters may apply for the internship. However, students who are enrolled in the last semester of their degree are not allowed to make the application. Their participation in the internship will be approved as the completion of three to six credit hours of ‘International Internship Practice’ courses. The application must be made until October 31st (Wed). Interviews will be held on November 6th (Tue), followed by the selection of preferred companies on November 15th (Thu). Applicants may select up to three companies they prefer to participate in.
The list of currently available companies that KUBS students can participate in as an intern is △OKTA LA Branch △LG Electronics in Spain, Russia, and Canada △Pulmuone Beijing △PT Pratama Abadi △Entrust Permal Hong Kong. Ms. Yoon Young Kim from KUBS International Office commented that “the communication is still ongoing; the list will be updated. So I highly recommend you proceed with the application even if you do not see your preferred company on the list yet.”
KUBS international internship program was commenced in 1994. It is the first international internship program in Korea, which was designed to encourage students’ global experience. In 1994, 32 students participated in the program, and each year around 30 students went aboard for their internship experience to more than 15 countries in the world. So far, a total of 1970 students participated in the internship at 500 organizations across the world.
