Commencement Ceremony for 2017 Fall MBA

On the 17th of August, Korea University Graduate School of Business (Dean Soo Young Kwon) held the commencement ceremony for 2017 Fall MBA programs.
The commencement ceremony was held at SUPEX Hall LG-POSCO Building where KUBS faculty including Dean Soo Young Kwon, Associate Dean Kyung Sam Park attended to congratulate the graduands. With their graduation gown and cap, the graduands filled the auditorium. The School had a total of 69 MBA graduates of Fall 2017 from △Global MBA △Executive MBA △Korea MBA.
The ceremony started with a welcoming address, followed by the oath of allegiance to the nation. Associate Dean Park then briefly went through the School’s academic achievements. Associate Dean Park said “KUBS is ranked as Korea’s best business school for the sixth consecutive year in the rankings released by the Korea Economic Daily Business. Since its establishment in 1963, Korea University Business School demonstrates its academic excellence in teaching and research.”
Dean Kwon had his commencement address, where he said “I can imagine each and all of the graduates had to overcome obstacles to be here. Congratulations to you for the hard work and many accomplishments that have brought to you to this day.” Dean Kwon also encouraged the graduates that “Each and every one of you is a leader who will investigate the issues we are facing, such as low growth and uncertainty in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” He added, “Korea University Business School will continue making our efforts to absorb the changes in the society, and yet uphold our mission to provide the best education possible.”

After the Dean’s address, diplomas were conferred to the graduands. Special awards were presented in the ceremony as well. The recipients of the awards were △KU President Award of Distinction: Hye-Yeon Lee (Global MBA) △KUBS Dean’s Award of Distinction: Mohit S Gill (Global MBA) △Achievement Award by Student Association: Soon-Ho Kwon, Patrick Drejerczak, Miguel Periera (Global MBA). △ Achievement Award by Alumni Association: Joseph Jae Ahn.
The ceremony ends with the university anthem singing and graduation cap throwing tradition. The audience was able to see the graduates’ excitement through their loud anthem singing. The graduates threw the cap, congratulating each other’s commencement.
The School had 69 graduates in total, which consists of △60 Global MBA graduates △1 Executive MBA graduate and △8 from Korea MBA.
