‘2018 E-MBA Junior SMART Camp’ for E-MBA Students and Alumni’s Children

Korea University Graduate School of Business (Dean Soo Young Kwon)’s Executive MBA (E-MBA) held ‘E-MBA Junior SMART Camp’ on July 21st, Saturday, at LG-POSCO Building Room 531.
The Camp is designed for middle school and high school students who are interested in business administration, inviting 30 teenaged children of E-MBA students and alumni. The event started with △an introduction of KUBS and seven majors in business administration △campus tour with mission game △group exercise - planning my campus life △special lecture by professor Weon Sang Yoo △special lecture by professor Jae Uk Chun.

Program director professor Weon Sang Yoo and professor Jae Uk Chun first gave welcoming remarks to the audience, where professor Yoo said, “Thank you for your participation in such a hot weather. I hope you find this event meaningful, on the campus your parents spent time studying.”
KUBS student ambassador KUBE then introduced the Business School and seven majors in business administration. KUBE and the participants then took a campus tour. The participants also had a mission game in which they were asked to take ‘a picture of passion’ in front of KUBS Main Building.

The participants then had a group exercise ‘planning my campus life’ where they matched key campus events such as Ko-Yon Jeon and Seok-Top Festival in chronological order. They also had a group mentoring activities to ask questions on campus life and share their thoughts and concerns on their career planning.
The first special lecture ‘Business Management and Marketing’ was held by Professor Weon Sang Yoo. Professor Yoo went through a brief overview of business operations, business administration and marketing. He had a Q&A session to consult participants about their career planning. Professor Jae Uk Chun then had a second special lecture ‘Business Management and People’ where he focused on the internal and external operation of the business. Professor Chun △ask yourself about the rationale for your long-term goal △set short-term goals accordingly △be a doer and boost your ego to achieve your goal.
The Camp ended with a small completion ceremony for participating the 2018 E-MBA Junior SMART Camp. The participants then took a group photo. One of the KUBE student ambassador, Ho-Joong Lee (Business ’15) commented, “I would like to thank my mentee, s(he) is a middle school student and it was impressive how my mentee showed the great interest in campus life already.” “I hope the participants would be able to have a concrete idea on campus life as well as on their career planning.”
