On January 27, Korea University Business School hosted the 6th KUBS Teen Mentoring Day. 84 high school students who wish to study business in college participated in the event and 20 members of KUBS Student Ambassador Program (KUBE) volunteered as mentors. In his welcoming remarks, KUBS Associate Dean Jaehwan Kim said “I hope each and every one of you will be able to establish your vision as entrepreneurs through this program”.

The Teen Mentoring Day Program is designed for future business administration students to have an opportunity to sit on a special lecture and practice session to grasp an idea of what business administration is. The special lecture delivered by Professor James L. Park was a great success, it was mainly on basic concepts of business administration and its specialized majors, and career paths of business graduates.

The program also consisted of Introduction to KUBS Life and Business Administration, KU Campus Tour while completing given tasks, and Career Counseling Session with KUBS students. Shin Yoon Ho (2nd year student from Dongtan High School) said “It has been a pleasure to be able to participate in an event held by KUBS, I feel it is a big step planning for my future.”

KUBS intends to open a mentoring day each semester break for future KUBS students. Hong Chang Ui (Business ‘14) added “It was a great event for high school students to introduce what business administration is. The participants seemed pretty satisfied with the program. I hope the event opens every year for high school students, and the School’s continuous support would be appreciated.”

KUBS plans to continue our mentoring program which is held at the end of every school term. It is free of charge for high school students aspiring to become the next generation of entrepreneurs.
