Hasung Jang, the Dean of KUBS and the Dean of the MBA School, began his term on August 1.

Korea University reappointed Hasung Jang as the Dean of KUBS and the Dean of the MBA School, whose previous term ended July 31. He is the first Dean to serve three consecutive terms at KUBS. His term ends July of 2011.

Prior to officially announcing the appointment, President Ki-Soo Lee unofficially reappointed Ha-sung Jang as the Dean of KUBS and the Dean of the MBA School in June. The KUBS faculty voted in favor of ratifying the appointment.

A school official said “Dean Jang expressed his wishes not to take office again, but it seems that the school deeply valued his contribution to the school.”

Dean Jang is widely recognized as having greatly contributed to the elevated status of KUBS since first taking office in August of 2005. He is leading the innovation of the school with his vision of ‘Global 50’, making the school one of the world’s top 50 schools by 2015.

In particular, Dean Jang actively recruited new students to KUBS last year when he made an unprecedented proposal to offer full four-year scholarships to all of the ‘Regular Decision Priority’ admittees. He has also done an excellent job of raising funds for the school.

In addition, Professor Kyung Suh Park was appointed Director of the Institute for Business Research and Education. Along with the inauguration of Dean Jang, Professor Johngsuk Bae was appointed Associate Dean of KUBS and Professor Jinbae Kim and Dae Soo Kim have been appointed Associate Deans of the MBA School.
