KUBS Alumni, the Largest Ratio Among Korea’s Top 100 Company CEOs
Korea University Business School (Dean Soo Young Kwon) is proud to announce that KUBS turned out to has the largest ratio of alumni among current CEOs at 100 most influential companies in Korea, compared to other faculties at Korean universities. The statistics is a part of the CEO evaluation section from ‘2018 Analysis and Evaluation of Korea’s Top 100 CEO & Business’ released by the Korea Economic Daily Business. In particular, KUBS achieved the top rank as a single faculty for two years in a row, affirming its position as the best business school in Korea.
According to the statistics, there are a total of 27 out of 100 CEOs who were majoring in business administration during their bachelor’s degree studies. Among the 27, seven are KUBS alumni and it is the largest proportion as a single faculty at Korean universities. The number of business bachelor’s graduates from Seoul National University came after KUBS with four alumni out of 100. Sungkyunkwan University and Yonsei University had the next best rankings with three and two alumni each.
The list of seven KUBS alumni who are current CEOs at 100 best companies in Korea are △Cheol Young Lee; Vice Chairman & CEO of Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance (Business ’71) △In-Young Lee; President and CEO of Hanon Systems (Business ‘76) △Dae Cheol KIM; CEO of Hyundai Development Company (Business ‘77) △Young Ho Lee; President & CEO of Samsung C&T Corporation, Engineering & Construction Group (Business ‘78) △Sang Shin Pak; CEO of Daelim Industrial Co., Ltd (Business ‘81) △Jung Ho Park; President & CEO of SK Telecom (Business ‘82) △Shin-Ho Kang; Co-Representative Director of CJ Cheiljedang Corporation (Business ‘81).
Followed by the largest number of CEOs at the top 100 companies being business graduates, the next most frequent undergraduate majors the CEOs studied were △Chemical Engineering (6) △Law (5) △English Literature (5) △Electronic Engineering (5) △Economics (4) △public administration (4).
