Korea University Global MBA Students Make Kimchi for 300 Older Adults in Need

Korea University Global MBA students joined Korea Legacy on Sunday, the 25th, to make kimchi for 300 older adults in need.
Led by Professor Betty J. Chung, Director of the Global MBA program, the students mixed and packed the kimchi by hand, sharing their care and warmth with older members of the community. Through kimjang, Korea’s traditional practice of preparing kimchi for winter, they experienced Korean culture firsthand and reflected on how food can bring people together across nationalities and generations.
“Making kimchi myself, rather than simply enjoying it at the table, helped me feel much closer to Korean culture,” said one student who participated. “I hope the kimchi we made will help bring a little warmth to their winter.”
The volunteer activity gave students a meaningful opportunity to step beyond the classroom, connect with the local community, and put empathy and care into practice as future leaders.
