1. Professor Hyun Seok Lee 

Professor Hyun Seok Lee (Area: LSOM) was honored with the ‘Best Paper Award’ at the 25th Korea Management Association Convergence Conference on August 18th. The award ceremony took place at the Bexco in Busan. Professor Lee presented a paper titled “The Impact of Increasing Entry Fee on Emergency Department Demand: A Territory-Wide Study,” which secured this prestigious recognition. Additionally, Professor Hyun Seok Lee plays an active role as the Chair of the Master’s and Doctoral committee for the Korean Production and Operations Management Society, an academic organization established in 1988. This organization is dedicated to promoting its commitment to various academic forums, industrial settings, and joint private sector symposiums.   

2. Professor Chris Changwha Chung 

Professor Chris Changwha Chung (Area: International Business), along with Nam Kim (who has completed her doctoral coursework) and Young Bin Kim (currently pursuing an MS degree), had the honor of being selected as finalists for the GWU-CIBER Best Paper in the International Management Division. This recognition was achieved at the 83rd Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, which took place in Boston, USA from August 4th to 8th. The research team’s paper, titled “Evidence of ‘Double-Loop Springboard’ Under De-globalization in China,” earned them this prestigious recognition.
