Startup Station holds Winter 2021 Startup Capability Reinforcement Camp and Startup Practical Training Session
On January 25(Tuesday), training session for the business start-ups was held at the Entrepreneurship Competency Reinforcement Camp hosted by Startup Station (Director = Shin Hojung) of KUBS. In this session, areas that are necessary for the establishment and operation of a startup company such as △Intellectual Property Rights △Basic Law and Labor Standards Act △Human Rights and Gender Equality Education △Accounting and Taxation were covered.
First, Seo Jeong-yeol, a patent attorney, gave a lecture on ‘intellectual property rights such as patents and trademarks’ related to company management. Patent Attorney Seo emphasized the importance of intellectual property rights, especially in startups, and explained the basic concepts of patents and trademarks and what should be kept in mind in the course of business operation.
Next, a lecture by lawyer Jang Jeong-eun was given on ‘legal issues and major risks related to various types of company management’. Lawyer Jang said that the lecture was organized so that the participants could familiarize themselves with the legal matters in these various types of business since there are various types of camp participants ranging from individual entrepreneurs to those who have established corporations. After that, this lecture was followed by explanations of legal issues that each type of corporation and individual business owner should be aware of, and legal risks such as regulations, employees, and governance that startups especially have to keep an eye on.
Next, Roh Jeong-min, Manager of the Center for Gender Equality at Korea University, conducted an awareness education on respect for human rights and gender equality, which are essential for business operation. There were sharing of information on human rights and gender equality that can be referenced in business operation as well as various policies of the school.
Finally, Tax Accountant Kim Shin-Il gave a lecture on the importance of tax in company management and the details of accounting and tax business. △Proof of legal expenditure △Correction of tax return △Claim for correction were explained along with specific examples. After the lecture, the entrepreneurship practical education in which experts from various fields of entrepreneurship participated was successfully closed.
KUBS Startup Station(Center Director=Shin Hojung) held a Startup Capability Reinforcement Camp for fourteen days throughout January and February of 2022. This camp consisted of various programs that could help participants reinforce their capacities such as Startup mentor session and practical education, and the camp provided opportunities for student entrepreneurs to build networks with one another.
