Global KUBS: Worldwide Exchange with 109 Universitie

Throughout the past three years, there have been a total of 836 international students enrolling at Korea University Business School (KUBS). The number of new undergraduate international students has doubled (△77 freshmen in 2014, △ 100 freshmen in 2015, and △41 freshmen in 2016). There has also been an increase in the number of international students in graduate level. Each year since 2014, around 38 international students are matriculating at KUBS. Also, the Graduate School had an increase from 7 international students in 2014 to 15 international students in 2016. The number of incoming exchange students follows the trend as well. More than 100 students have studied abroad at KUBS (△171 students in 2014, △152 students in 2015, △185 students in 2016). KUBS is acknowledged by world-renowned scholars based on the various indexes certified by institutes with authorities such as UTD Rankings, EMBA World Rankings and more.
Befitting its reputation, KUBS has college-level exchange agreements with business schools all around the world. The exchange program is operated independently aside from Korea University Office of International Affairs. Students have the opportunity to broaden their experience by interacting with international students at overseas universities.
One of the advantages of the KUBS Student Exchange Program is that students will be considered enrolling at KUBS during their exchange period and they can also transfer course credits earned from partner universities. In addition, due to agreements with the partner universities, students are only required to pay tuition at KUBS, which reduce time and financial burden compared to other visiting student programs or general study abroad. KUBS also partially supports airfare scholarship depending on the student’s financial need.
The program participants are selected through application screening and interview. The eligibilities for the Student Exchange Program are as follows: KUBS students, including those who are in the dual degree program, who have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in the last two semesters (summer/winter semester excluded). Students in their last semester, double majors, minors are unable to apply for the program. Although English proficiency test scores are not mandatory, certain partner universities may request it. Therefore, it is important to check requirements and prepare for them ahead of time. In addition, students can extend their exchange period except universities in English-speaking countries.
The selection process is done each semester, and orientation sessions for successful applicants are held in March and September. As part of preliminary preparation for the program, students must complete “Gender Equality Education” and “Contemporary Business Etiquette Education” provided by KUBS Career Hub.
As of Spring 2016, KUBS has exchange agreements with 109 universities from 33 countries and sends out about 180 students each year. KUBS continuously make new agreements in order to help students become a global leader.
