“Strengthening Competitiveness of Graduate School by Drawing Outstanding Leaders”
Q. Congratulations on your appointment as the Associate Dean for Graduate School of Korea University Business School (KUBS). Could you share a few words with us?
At first, I was afraid if I could serve well as Associate Dean. However, as I know how important this position is, I strive to work with joy. Most importantly, one of my goals is to listen and reflect the opinions of professors, staff, and students as much as possible. I will not lose sight of the big picture while paying attention to details. In addition, I will remain humble and serve for the community.
KUBS is considered to be the best compared to other Korean business schools. In terms of faculty size, our business school has the largest faculty in the nation. Each KUBS professor shows notable research performance as well. However, considering the worldwide recognition, we still have a long way to go. With that being said, securing distinguished faculty is critical in improving our school’s competitiveness.
The Graduate School showed remarkable results in BK21 Plus Interim Evaluation last year and will be receiving continued support as a large-scale project until 2020. KUBS aims to earn excellent results in the upcoming regular, annual, and comprehensive evaluations. Furthermore, we will continue to examine ways to enhance competitiveness of the Master’s and Doctoral programs.
Attracting talented individuals to KUBS must be our primary focus. Our school is planning to send a congratulation letter to newly admitted students with my signature as well as admission guide and brochure. We hope such little things can gradually bring positive outcomes.
I am also in charge of KUBS budget, accounting, management of development funds, public relations, Sudang Digital Library, classroom reservation, and more. As chief of KUBS’s financial operations, I will support our school's various projects while efficiently using our resources. Moreover, I will endeavor to properly use precious donations delivered by our alumni. Although fundraising will be led by the new Dean, I will also actively take part in raising funds.
